HTC One Email Calender Notification problem

I unchecked the Calender sync to the Email, and the calender notifications still appear on the lock screen. I did it several times and it automatically comes back after some time. And it never goes out of the lockscreen (not untill the task time/meeting time has passed). Is there anyway to disable the calender notifications (privacy issue) on the lockscreen?

I am not sure HTC is aware of such problems. The same thing applies to the Gallery too. I tried not syncing photos from Facebook to the gallery. It disappears for a while and then reappears. Its frustrating some times.
