Hi all,

Just purchased the HTC One Google Play Edition, first smartphone ever.
I'm currently not on any plan, so right now my One is just a fancy calculator without wifi.
Is anybody using this device with Straight Talk? I was having trouble finding anything about Straight Talk offering micro SIM cards that are compatible with this.
What process would I go through to get this phone hooked up to Straight Talk, or another MVNO?

Well straight talk is only selling T-Mobile sim cards as far as I know at this time. If your Google play edition HTC one supports tmobile(I assume it would) then check out mobiles coverage map for your area and areas that you frequent. There are users saying that there is a soft cap data limit of 100mb per day or 2gb a month. I'm not sure if this is completely true as I use us cellular as my carrier.

There are tools that you can get eBay and Amazon that will allow you to cut a regular SIM card into a micro or nano SIM, such as this: Amazon.com: eForCity Micro Sim Card Cutter+4 Sim Adapter Compatible With iPhone? 4 4G 4th: Cell Phones & Accessories

The GPE, like the factory unlocked version (which I have), does not have the 1700mhz 3G/4G band. As a result, if you live in an area where T-Mobile has not refarmed their 3G/4G to the 1900mhz band or gone live with their LTE network, you will only get 2G/EDGE speeds. A user-generated map of 1900mhz 3G/4G coverage can be found here: Sightings of T-Mobile 3G/4G/HSPA+ coverage on 1900MHz (PCS/UMTS band II)

I bought an HTC One Google Edition as well and read somewhere that StraightTalk sends you 3 sizes of SIM cards. This is incorrect. They send a regular sized SIM. I had to cut mine down using this template. I didn't cut it exactly right at first and when the phone started, it said something like No SIM Card Detected. Since then I've shaved more off with sandpaper and now it appears to recognize it, but doesn't give me service. I tried putting it into a TMobile phone (can't remember what type) and it recognized it correctly. I'm still struggling with it, but I believe it SHOULD work.
