Here's to hoping I'm wrong about most of that list.
Hear hear! *clink*

I think I'll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the camera and that it'll fail everywhere else that matters (screen quality, battery life, build quality, design (already failed this one), software updates, price, carrier unlocked and availability, etc, etc). Here's to hoping I'm wrong about most of that list.

Assassin Droid. Not sure I agree about software updates. Only the Nexus has a better track record. Only a few more days to go.

By software updates, I mean knocking out major version updates and monthly security updates. Missing on either is bad. So far no one but Nexus and Priv are keeping up.
Right, and the Nexus and Priv are day 1, every month on security, though the priv doesn't have MM other than a beta offer. Does the A9 have the April patch? More importantly, does the M9? I'm not talking down HTC on this, I'm saying it's an area of opportunity that needs work. 9 days is good but they can do better. And there's nothing stopping them from doing so.This is flat wrong. The HTC A9 got the March security patch 9 days after the Nexus and was the first non Nexus phone with both 6.0 and 6.0.1

I'm not a fan of the privYou just said missing on major version updates is bad above and then knock HTC but still hold the PRIV out despite it being on 5.1.1 and the only Android device they support. Can everyone do better? Sure. But HTC is out in front of everyone but Google right now
