Sorry for my bad grammar in english, not really good at it. This is my first time to post to any thread/forum sites, and my reason is take a chance to find answer or solution to the problem I encountered on my HTC One (M7). I've owned iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S upto 5 and i'm getting bored at it, so I compared it to my friends android devices and it seems my iPhone, no doubt! is miles away from that kind of technology so I gave it a shot and tried android phones. Recently I owned my first android phone which is Samsung Galaxy S4, I enjoyed using it but it's kinda slow and unresponsive compared to my iPhone 5 or because maybe i'm just used to it. S4 really disappoints me, and most of the time it crashes. Since one of my friends owns an HTC One I tried it for a week, swapped my S4, and I really enjoyed the device, I totally fell inlove with it, it's like a skin of iPhone, with a heart of Android which is perfect... plus it is more faster than S4 IMO... Now I can sell my iPhone 5 without any worries of chosing a wrong phone. So, i decided to buy an HTC One (M7) 64gb. Now with my problem, my 2 weeks old HTC One (M7) starts to disappoints me again. I use it at the gym - the only place I use it as a music player device, I never put it inside my pocket, because I'm using a treadmill - which can accidentally fall off when I'm running, The only place for this device is in machines cup or water bottle holder... I play my music on a stock HTC One music player app with the stock HTC One earphone that comes with the device, here's the situation for 5-6 songs it works perfectly after that it instantly starts to fast forward by itself without even touching my earphone button which I leave hanging freely while i'm running and the phone itself which rest safely on the cup holder, I thought its just a problem with the music file but it suddenly skip tracks from one song to another and won't stop skipping tracks until I pressed my earphone button and for an instant it stops and plays the song for a sec, but the skipping problem came back which starts with fast forwarding to skipping tracks again. It's like my HTC One had been possessed, continuous track skipping and fast forwarding by itself. But, before this incident happened, I tried my newly bought device for the first time same situation - at the gym, running on treadmill... since I don't have any music yet on my device I tried to use the stock FM Radio app, it works perfectly for 5 minutes... and for an instant it changes FM stations continuously, it won't stop scanning for other stations, again I thought, maybe I had a poor signal so I assumed it is scanning automatically for a better station with a better signal but it won't stop, so i decided to turn off the FM Radio app knowingly it's just a signal problem. So, I've tried to search for the solution but nothing works for my device, I installed an app named Wizdroid which disables mic on earphones but no success... I don't know if I have a faulty device or earphone, because whenever I use the stock earphone that came with the device, that problem occurs, but when I use my other earphone like the urbanear, almost the same as the stock earphone that comes with the device, with rubber earplugs and just mic with no volume buttons and it works perfectly... I'm just bothered, if how long would it hold for other earphone to work perfectly with my device or might end up the same as my stock HTC One earphone... I don't know whether to return the device for replacement or just to hold on to this device and just wait for a solution. Same as you guys we pay high for this phones to work perfectly and not to disregard any of it's accessories because it doesn't work or had issues... It should work the way it should... because we payed for it as a whole not just the phone itself. If you guys had encountered this kind of problem and found or have a solution please help me and kindly share it to me. I love this device so much and use it more than my iPad 4. Because it is better than my iPad 4... It's a perfect match for me. TIA! I really appreciate your help.

I encountered the same problem 2 weeks ago, I was also using the earphone that comes with the HTC One set (which I believe is the problem). The music player starts skipping music rapidly and frustrates me alot!! Emailed HTC for solutions, but they couldn't help me except for asking me to reset my phone settings which I am so reluctant to do that cos' I have alot important things in my phone. The program Wizdroid couldn't help at all.

But after I switched to a different earphone, the problem stops.. so far I have no problem..
I hope this answers your question.

I have this too. It happened about 4x. I was using the earbuds that came with the phone too.
It happened with Google "Play Music" player and "Audible".
I don't know if it has anything to do with it but the button on the earbuds doesn't work anymore.

Ok, so I have the same problem. I only notice it when I have my HTC One (Google Edition) in my pocket and am outside doing yard work, listening to headphones. At about the 1 hour point, it begin skipping wildly on Doubletwist, Google Play Music, Stitcher, and Audible. Nothing seems to fix the problem other than waiting. Restarting the phone doesn't fix it. I am not using the stock earbuds, but using a nice set of Beats. This doesn't happen while using the phone in my console connected via aux cable no matter how long I use it. I have only had this problem with the phone in my shorts pocket outside doing yard work.

I believe this is a known issue with the headphone jack. I had my headphone jack replaced when it failed. Open a ticket with HTC and they will likely have you send the device in for repair.
