HTC One M8 9gag app saves images automatically

Hello everyone,

I'm using M8 and I downloaded 9gag official app but when I open the open app it saves all the images. I always have to delete them myself by selecting everyone of them. Can anybody help me how can I fix this problem? I'm using unlocked version.

Yep, I noticed the same thing, but I also noticed that all those 9gag auto-saved images goes away when I make a Clean Master clean-up, so those images are probably just cached images.

And for some reason HTC Gallery shows those cached images as saved images, so the question is can we prevent the Gallery app from detecting cached images?

Side Note:-
You can of course use the Gallery (show/hide albums) to hide the albums that stores 9gag cached images ( gags / gifs / images ) but that is more like a way around the problem rather than a solution, as sometimes 9gag cached images gets stored in a random names albums.

I've been having the same issue but I just downloaded QuickPic from Play Store and use that. It's not as flashy, but is much faster, let's you exclude parent folders on the file system (so that all cache folders are excluded, for example. This helps with the random 9 gag folders) and is easier to multi select with (I've found it harder to multi select in the m8's gallery).

Ok, I've found a way to stop the media scan service (and thereby, the stock Gallery app) from scanning certain folders. Using ES File Explorer (or whatever you normally use), create a blank file and name it ".nomedia" <-- Don't forget the leading period under \storage\sdcard0\Android\Data\

I accidently created a folder instead of an file. Does it matter? Can't find the folder, guessing it gets hidden?

Hello again everyone,

Sorry for my late respond. Today I send an email to "9Gag First" app developer and they respond me that they fixed this problem on last update. I've been using for almost a day and they are right. No more pictures on the gallery.

I have the same problem with my HTC M8 when I use the app "Gaydar". It self saves all the promo advertising off the app each time I access it. It's very irritating, but sorry I'm not a "technie" and so don't understand some of the lang and actions as above !
