The LED light works when it wants to.

Orange when charging, green when charged, nothing when a notification comes in regardless of power connection.

So this drove me nuts too. My solution was to do a factory restart. The issue I found from other forums is caused by other launchers that may have transitioned over from your previous device. At this time I think the bug is only on Verizon M8s.

Screen often will not wake

Way too often I have to power key and volume up restart because the screen is unresponsive to any gesture or power key wake up. I've factory reset it once. No improvement. Anyone else?

The contact pictures aren't displaying in the HTC messaging app. I've changed them, they showed up for a while and are gone again...they display in the phone app and in People, just not in messages. Anyone else?

Pretty sure HTC needs to do something about their camera app. Similar password apps Password Box and Dashlane also crash the camera app constantly when launching in portrait mode, usually from the icon. Works fine if landscape mode, launching from volume button shortcut.

For Password Box and Dashlane, the issue occurs because of their one-tap login method. It uses Accessibility Services under Android Settings. If you turn it off in Accessibility Services for the app (no more 1-tap login), issue goes away. I have contacted Password Box about the issue, they responded. HTC just told me to log the issue on their site, with no response.

To me this is bad for HTC as I was about to exchange my phone because I shouldn't have to deal with this type of issue. Stumbled across what was causing it by complete accident. Less tech savvy users may just return the phone and get something else, which isn't good for HTC at all.

Ok, this is a HUGE issue. And if I can't fix it I will have to return the phone.

My Mobile Hotspot only works with the screen on. Every time the screen turns off I lose my connection. The hotspot doesn't turn off it just stops functioning. It works fine as soon as I turn the screen back on.

This is REALLY annoying as I use my hotspot all the time. I'm on Verizon and blow thru over 20gigs of data per month.

Can anyone please help me fix this? Is it happening to anyone else?

Ok, this is a HUGE issue. And if I can't fix it I will have to return the phone.

Does the device that is using it see the phone as an available connection with the screen off? I don't use it but I turned mine on and shut the screen down, my computer still sees it as an available connection. Also, do you have Power Mode set to Always on?

The device still sees the connection. I don't have Power Mode on my Verizon version.

Yesterday I downloaded a couple of htc updates from the Play Store. Since then I haven't had an issue. (Fingers crossed).

Also, I notice that my battery is lasting much longer on the M8 than on my Note 3 with tethering on.

Same here & my Instagram notifications are really delayed sometimes. I find that I have to wake & unlock my screen before I get most of my notifications from apps.

I've listened to dozens of hours of music no problem. But many calls will drop the BT connection after a few mins for no reason.

Same here & my Instagram notifications are really delayed sometimes. I find that I have to wake & unlock my screen before I get most of my notifications from apps.

Check in settings under "power", there is an option for "sleep mode". It is on by default and it shuts off the data connection during periods of long inactivity. I don't know how they define long periods, but that may be the reason you're not getting your notifications from apps until you wake the device. Try unchecking that option and see if it corrects the issue.

dead pixel in the lower left corner. Not really bad - you only see it during boot-up - but it's always the same with HTC. Have had bad pixels on every single HTC handset I've ever owned. Low QC :-(

Agree mine did not come with any retail demo. Could the other person be talking about maybe a carrier app that tries to give a demo in set up

I don't think this is a HTC problem this has happened on every phone I have owned from iPhone to galaxy note 3 I just don't think every notification from social networking apps will be caught and pushed

This happens with most devices and most of the time it's the Bluetooth device not the phone that's dropping the connection

Multiple issues after 4 days:

*Answer Call button on phone screen did not work

*Call waiting answered 2nd call but I could not get back to first call

*Lookout says it scanned 324 Apps for security... I count less than 60 on my screens

*No way to place a call on speaker phone from the dial screen

*Type of Keyboard selected symbol keeps popping up - no matter what I select

*GPS VOICE FAILS AFTER FIRST INSTRUCTION IN GOOGLE MAPS... THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM FOR ME IN A NEW CITY...

*Launch Camera from volume key has not worked for me...

I'm not yet convinced I will keep the phone...

Any replies appreciated... Cheers, Steve
