HTC One (M8): Case or naked

I want to run around naked really badly but to play it safe I'm rocking the diztronic case and love it.

I threw my toys out of the pram when I went to bed last night because I couldn't plug the charging lead into the phone in the dark with the case on.
So I'm currently naked.
It feels liberating and sexy.

The phone is better naked as well ;)

Re: Case or naked

... I don't drop it onto pavement or concrete though, only on a carpeted floor

Wow, excellent accident planning!
When I crash a car, I usually wait until I get to a field or meadow too.
:)

Right? My accidents are so well thought out! Lol

My work has carpeted floors and that's where I play with it the most

Re: Case or naked

Got the Hyperion TPU case today. Fits nicely, and I no longer feel like the phone is going to slip out of my hands to get damaged.

I absolutely prefer to never use cases. Unfortunately, this is the most slippery phone I've ever used! Aarrgghh... I don't see how anyone can complain about the slippery feel of a Samsung phone. This phone is nice to hold and look at but I had to put my first daily case on a phone. It is a clear case so I can still see it, but it is a case. That sucks. All in all, I love the phone.

I would say naked if I didn't drop mine. Now I have a big ugly dent on the corner. So now I have a case and even though it's covered I know that dent is there and its killing me. So please use a case. I know how you feel. The phone is so damn sexy and u want to show it off but if you drop it you can't undrop it...

The sad thing is that most people will ultimately learn the hard way. It would without a doubt kill me if I accidentally dropped my device and damaged it.....especially if its brand spankin new!! Just put a case on it and have peace of mind.

Exactly my point. Sad part about my situation is I had just got the phone and was waiting for my case. While waiting I was actually contemplating if I should cover it up with the case. So again I say, absolutely. Use a case.

This one blocks the IR blaster too, correct? Are the edges shiny or do they have more of a matte finish?

Matte finish, assuming the IR blaster is still the power button it is not blocked. They left the power button open.

Re: Case or naked

Naked, maybe a full body skin but you gotta show off the beauty :)

Curious, how many folks actually stop you and fawn over the phone you have in your pocket or pinned to your ear while using it (showing it off)? Yes this is a nice enough phone but I don't see anything "show off worthy" as it pretty much looks like any other rectangle smart phone out there when being used. I think the only smartphone that really had folks talking was the very first iPhone. After that, they pretty much all look alike these day.

Considering how slippery this thing is, there no WAY I'd go without a case of some kind. Not to mention how easy it is to scratch and dent.

I have not had a case on a phone ever really. I have a Diztronic TPU case ready for tomorrow though (finally T-Mobile!!). Played with one a bit in a best buy last week and it was a little too slippery for me. So going to try a case to start out.

Incipio case arrived today. It's just like my other cases for my other phones. I HIGHLY recommend this case. Even at $20, it's worth it.

HTC advantage (everyone who buys the device will get this) will give you one free screen replacement for the first six months

Hate to bump at old post, but do you have a source for this? Unless I'm not mistaken the screen replacement only applied the the original HTC one, the HTC One Max, and the HTC One Mini. Even checked HTC's site and they don't have it listed among the benefits.

Introducing HTC Advantage?. Because when you buy the best, it should stay that way?from technology to design to your content?at no additional cost. That?s our commitment to our customers. Now when customers buy any HTC One (M8) they can rest assured their device will be future proofed, with major Android updates for 2 years from launch. Of course there?s other stuff too, like 25GB to 50GB of free online storage and device back-up services so your stuff has a home off your device. And, we will not stop here. Our mission is to reward those that buy the very best by treating them as well on day 500 as the day they walk out of the store. It?s something we believe a premium product maker should do.

Aha, they should more clearly advertise that on their site then. Would be a big selling point to many.
