HTC One (M8): Dead pixels?

Just checking in to get feedback to see how many people, if any, have had any dead pixels on their new phones. I remember seeing a lot of people complain about that with the M7, myself included and just want to know if it's still something of a concern before I buy mine.

Re: Dead pixels?

Now that I think of it, this the first time I've followed a phone's launch and saw zero reports of dead pixels in the first week. Good stuff.

I'm shocked. I know people would be posting if there were any and I've checked everywhere and haven't seen one case of it. Ordered my phone tonight and can't wait to get it.

Re: Dead pixels?

I don't have any on mine.

One of the first things I did was download and run a dead pixel test on the phone. Came up clean. The screen is amazing.

Re: Dead pixels?

Got mine on launch day and had a single dead pixel to the left of the home soft button. Brought it back to Verizon the next day and they swapped it for a new one. New one had zero dead pixels.

I remember Peter Chou at the launch mentioned that this phone is very well tested before release and the defect rate is expected to be much much lower than (1/2 or 1/10 of, I don't remember) that of M7. I think as a flagship product this is the way to go before release, particularly for HTC if it wants to build its brand name through customers mouth. And this is something you don't get from tech reviews. Anyways, it gives me another legit reason to take this phone over other flagships, though I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

Got my phone today and I have one very small dead pixel only visible on a black screen. I'm bothered but I love the phone too much to send back. If they had them in att stores I'd walk in and trade but I don't have another phone to use while sending this back and waiting for another.

The build quality seems very good, much better than last year's One.

But, I too looked for dead/stuck pixels, as I had multiple issues with them last year.....Sadly, I do have screen issues again.

I have one visible on a black/darker screen in upper right corner, and then on the upper left, I have either a small line of multiple pixels coming down from the top....Likely return or exchange here.

I'd do an exchange when it's possible. It's like having a small scratch on your car that nobody else can see, buy YOU know it's there. That would drive me nuts, but then again, I'm very OCD. Things have to be perfect, or I'm not satisfied. :)

That is exactly it my friend....

None here. I had one small one on my M7, so am happy to not have that issue this time around!

I got mine from att store yesterday and found a dead pixel also. I am going to exchange it tomorrow hopefully they will have replacement.

You prompted me to check inventory at my local store to see if they'd have one to replace mine with and sure enough they did. Went in a couple hours ago and got a new M8 with zero dead pixels. I'm so happy now.

One small dead pixel towards the edge of the left side in the center. Don't notice it unless phone is like three inches from my face. Doesn't bother me, don't want to deal with an exchange.
