HTC One (M8) Issues

Couple issues:

I can't seem to put the M8 to sleep by double tapping. I read that you double tap the home screen/ or status bar, but mine doesn't do anything. Is there a setting?

Is there a way to get a flashlight? Without rooting the phone. I downloaded a couple off the app store, but none seem to work.

Apps that require continuous tapping on the screen.. such as dont tap the white tile/ line jumper.. will not work for me. Is this the game developer issue? Or what?

Do you know of a way to change the vibration intensity? Such as when my phone is on vibrate at work, and I get a text message, the vibration is so loud. Not too bad of an issue, just wondering if you know of anything.

And also, when I wake the phone up to the lock screen, my volume buttons still work. Shouldn't they only work when the phone is completely unlocked?

Any help/ suggestions is appreciated!

1. That is incorrect. Double tap to sleep only works on the lock screen.

2. This works https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...com.surpax.ledflashlight.panel&token=k6VyJres

3. Those could be issues with the app working on this phone and possibly the developer needs to update the app to work on the m8.

4. No way to change the intensity that I know of unless rooted. However, different texting apps allow you to change the duration and pattern and sometimes that lessens the vibration.

5. That is completely normal.

My mistake then.

Just download the one I provided. It's the official HTC flashlight app. Does what it's designed for with out bunch of other garbage these other rogue apps have.

Thank you all for the updates!! One more question, you said for number one that double tap to sleep only works on the lock screen. So I had the lock screen with no password, and I tried to double tap to sleep, but nothing happened-- just prompted me to unlock. So then I changed the lock screen to pattern, double tapped to sleep, but still nothing.

Double tap to sleep works?

You would need to download an app from the play store to get double tap to lock to work. The app is called Knock Lock.

Double tap on lock screen will put it to sleep. Any other screen you need an app like Knock Lock.

Double tap to sleep works?

It does work with the stock lock screen. But only the stock lock screen.

If you don't use or care about Google Now, then download the app Screen Off and Lock. Instead of swiping up from the home button to activate Google Now, you can choose to use Screen Off and Lock (select always so it doesn't ask you which one to use every time) and it will turn off your screen. Works better than any other screen off app imo, but you lose Google Now.
