HTC ONE M8 Or iPhone 6

My M8 has had fantastic battery life. Can seriously go 2 days without charging when needed.

Then you do not use your phone much. I need to charge everyday and I'm more of an average user. The M8 I would say has average batt life at best. My lg g2 is much better as is my Note 3.

I just went from an LG G2 to the M8. I do the same things on the M8 that I did on the G2 and I am able to go two days on one charge with the M8 the same as I could with the G2. So even though the battery capacity is a little smaller on the M8 I find that it lasts as long as the G2 with the larger capacity battery. I chalk it up to HTC doing a better job with its UI and possibly better hardware in the M8 as well. As a side not I hate cases...even though I have needed them and used them before...and the M8 does not "need" a case to hide all the greasy fingerprints that the G2 gathered on its backside. Metal VS shiny plastic? No contest. I have a Spigen Slim Armor case arriving today for my wife's M8 (she already dropped hers and the screen is wonky and smears...been replaced by Asurion) so I will see what the M8 looks and feels like with a case on it. Personally I think the Spigen is the best looking case for the M8. But now I will have a chance to see what it actually feels like.

Uh...no?

Don't make assumptions as to how I use my phone. I may not be on it all day long, but I typically have about ~3-4 hours of screen-on time every day, and can stretch the phone to 2 days if/when needed. I charge it every night anyway, but I typically end a day with about 60% left.

If your battery is not lasting as long, there are things you can do to improve battery life.

I have the Spigen Slim Armor as well and it looks nice, but it does take something away from the phone's natural beauty. It also adds a bit of bulk to it. Works well, though. Only dropped my phone once, and that was onto a carpet, but there was no damage done.

I bought 4 different cases including a frosted slim case which I find myself using most of the time. It adds a bit of grip, keeps the look , and doesn't add any bulk.

With regards to the battery. I end the day at around 30 percent which is not enough juice for me to take into the next day. My G2 I could get into the following day. Overall I have no complaints about the M8 battery as it gets me through the day and it's easy enough for me to charge overnight.

Assumption retracted. I know there are things I could probably do to increase life more but I use all my phones full board and am not willing to shut down features. I don't tweet, Facebook or play games. I do use it for voice calls, texting, news feeds , emails everyday at a minimum. It could be the experiences I have with other devices (LG g2 & Note 3) that lead me to say the M8 is average based on how I use it. I'm not complaining about it, just said it was average. Rethinking things it may be above average based on all devices on the market.

Just to be clear when you say two days to me that is a 48 hour period. My G2 would go 30 hours and that was a stretch. Again to get the M8 to 48 hours I think you have to turn everything off.

The M8 doesn't have the purple pictures problem like the M7 did (check the photos thread for proof). It will get understandably warm with heavy use, but even with intense gaming, it's never become "hot" for me and I haven't seen any reporting that it's a common problem.

Must admit I've not seen any purple tint on the m8.

But also noticed my apps and web pages actually load faster than they do in my iPhone. Not sure if this is due to chrome

This comparison is really apples to oranges. A better comparison to the M8 is the iPhone 5s.

M9 maybe I just never bothered again.. To be honest because of heating and now size. I am using the six plus not the six anymore.
For me I would if android I'll get the note 5 when it comes or lgg4 and I don't see me leaving Iove all my apps I paid for.
HTC sense and loved their news thing (forget the name) sorta like flipboard... And the Zoe's. HTC does make nice phones I was just disappointed on the m7 m8 never got the m9

I'm still torn between the two devices. Whenever I'm about to give up on the m8, I just can't do it. I love the slickness and class of it.

Ok the m8 beautiful phone metal lovely android layout love sense ...
What made me give up was crashes once it crashed on portrait mode maybe they fixed it i dont know.
Second was picture quality and I love love taking photos the iPhone for me takes nice pictures pretty much every time... Third size I like 5..5 inches lol fourth battery drain. It dies so faSt granted the six dies too but not as fast and last it did run warm at times not as bad as m7 but it hit its spots where I took it off my ear..
If u need your run w the m8 it may be for you don't NOT get it because of another persons experience... They are sleek. Enjoy it.. Try it for 2 weeks?
Iphone 6 for me... I had it for a month wanted a bigger phone got the plus here I am w the plus.
Love it lol everyone is different. Best of luck

I've come from iOS so I'm use to the iPhone. However when I go back to the iPhone I get bored easily, I'm constantly missing something. But think I go back to he iOS cause everyone else seems to be on it. Decisions!

Unless you are getting an M9 or Newer I'd get the iPhone 6. Most people seem to enjoy it and if you don't mind losing some customization you won't be missing anything. I prefer android and have tried iOS several times in the past and got bored quickly. I now have an S6 but I do like the smoothness of certain apps on iOS
