HTC One M8 refusal to boot after newest Lollipop update?

I got my M8 about a week ago for my birthday, and its been running marvelously. And then, I downloaded the newest version of Lollipop.
Now, my M8 refuses to boot unless I hold the Power and the Volume Up buttons, which also doesn't prompt the Factory Reset menu like it should. I'm also bombarded with multiple, layered pop ups stating apps have Crashed, or Stopped Responding, and is asking to send a report. (DoveU, Wi-Fi Calling, and NetworkSystem.) I can't even turn my phone back off without fighting the pop ups.
Currently refusing to boot, help.

I don't know how to fix this, please someone help. :( I love my M8.

If you can boot into recovery, you can do a factory reset there. That should help a lot with the crashes.

If you can't get into recovery to reset it, can you at least get it going enough to setup a lock screen password if you don't already have one? If so, you can enter the password wrong 10x in a row and it'll reset for you (a supposed security feature).
