HTC ONE - New to Android! Help!

Hey guys, first time poster and just changed from iPhone 4 to HTC one recently!

Ever since I changed to HTC One, I have been getting some text messages sent to my iPhone and iPhone only. Apparently, all my friends who have iPhones that send me texts go directly toward my iPhone (which is disconnected) but not to my HTC. Those who do not have iPhones that text me go to my HTC and not my iPhone. I imagine it has to do with iMessaging? As you can imagine, this gets hella frustrating. What can I do to fix this??

You have not disabled iMessage, so your messages are still going as iMessage instead of SMS. To disable iMessage:

If you don’t have access to your iPhone:

Step 1

Go to supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do.

Step 2

Log in with your Apple ID and password.

Step 3

Select the product you need to de-register (your iPhone, for example).

Step 4

Click ‘Unregister’.

Step 5

You’ll see the message ‘Are you sure you want to unregister and delete this product?’ – Click ‘Unregister’ again.
