HTC One: This is THE BUG Thread.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

I have about 600 wakelocks on it today. Googled and found a thread on XDA about it on the Nexus 4. Apparently 4.2.2 helps but not completely.

I've never had that many wakes before I can't help but wonder how battery would be if we got this fixed. Google searches told me it has something to do with Qualcomm. Man I Hope this gets sorted out

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

When I first saw this thread I wondered why start a "bug" thread already ? And then I remembered that it is after all , an htc.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

I am having problems keeping the weather on my home page (blinkfeed page for now) updated. The phone shows my proper location, but displays the message "No weather data available." If I press the message I first get a blank screen saying that it is unable to pull down the weather info and brings me to the accuWeather.com screen. After I access this page the information - temperature, weather picture are displayed on my home screen. After a while, the original message of no weather data available is displayed again. I have not been able to determine what causes the phone to lose its data or updates.

All of my gps or locate my phone settings are checked, I have selected the phone to update when opened. I have spoken with Sprint technical, support, brought the phone into a Sprint store and to the Best Buy store where I bought the phone. Nobody seems to know how to keep the weather constantly updating without losing data.

Is anybody else having this problem or know how to fix it?

I am listing it under bugs because neither Sprint not Best Buy knew of a solution.

Thank you.

I'm having the same issue. Someone posted about stopping the weather program then restarting it but I havent done that yet.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

NOTE: A couple of us have tracked down the reason for this, and it's kind of a significant bug: basically if you turn on "Accessibility" for any application (i.e. Tasker, LIght Flow, Pebble, etc.) this will break the "drag to unlock" functionality on the lock screen, so just a "tap" on the lock screen will unlock the phone. While that in itself isn't the end of the world, it causes other functions to not work either, like dismissing a call (as when you touch the screen it immediately unlocks the phone and answers the call, even if you touched "decline"), and things like using music controls on the lock screen (i.e. if you press pause it will work, but also immediatly unlock the phone).

This behaviour has been documented on my unlocked Developer Edition phone and another user's stock AT&T HTC One. Trying to get clarification from HTC if this is a known bug or not, and if the fix is included in the new software update that is reportedly being release to European phones.
This is more than a little infuriating. Now I have to choose between a completely broken lock screen and a completely useless Pebble. Based on the Android experiences I've had in the past, this isn't going to get fixed quickly, either.

US T-Mobile HTC One, by the way, so I think that confirms this bug on pretty much all models.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Hitting the Home button twice does not always bring up the task screen. I feel the feedback, so I know I am hitting it twice, but nothing happens. :(

I have run both calibrating apps.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Confirmed the updated firmware does not fix this issue. I am in the UK and my pebble app kills the lock screen too.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Having trouble changing text message notification sound. When I choose the new sound, it does not update. I have tried resetting it many times and rebooting. Any suggestions? New to Android, am a WebOS convert. Love the HTC ONE so far. Thanks!

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Anyone having problems with auto brightness not working. Rarely does it work for me and when it does it dims a little in complete darkness.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Is this a bug? The phone is supposed to have 2GB's of RAM. But when I run Geekbench or look at running programs it says 1.5GB?

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

This happened on my EVO LTE and I think it started with Jellybean but when my Bluetooth headset is in and I am driving if I want to speak a text the Google voice doesn't work when Bluetooth headset is on. The mic doesn't do anything. I have to turn off headset wait a second then it will work. With this phone it worked once or twice with Bluetooth on then it stopped working. But my speak to it assistant I can speak through it through my headset and say send text to so and so and Google voice mic pops up and works but I don't like texting that way cause what you speak it isn't in your conversation window. So someone will reply and you don't see what you spoke. It may be a Jelly Bean bug not a phone bug since it did it on my old Evo LTE but it bugs me.

I also wish you could hold down your headset and have the Google Voice Mic come up instead of Voice Dialer. I had an app on my Evo that would make Google Mic pop up but since it wouldn't work with Bluetooth on anymore I uninstalled the app. Mine opens up my assistant now but one thing with assistant if I need a phone number I can't say like dial Target it only dials contacts. I used to use Vlingo way back not sure if it's any better but didn't work well for me.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Dont know if its a bug or not, but sound volume is much lower after the 1.29 update...

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

I'm having trouble when pressing numbers during a call. When I call up customer care or something, if I'm prompted to press a button, and I press something, the call just goes silent for a while and then gets cut. I'm having no such trouble with my 4S. I was able to replicate this issue multiple times.

Has anyone else faced this problem? Please let me know what I can do :(

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Definitely a bug with the buttons.

For me its more the back button then the home button. I did the calibration doesn't really fix it.

Do you have a screen protector? I had the same issues until i removed it.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

I've found that sometimes, almost exclusively in Chrome it takes a few taps to get the search/url bar to respond, that and I had one instance yesterday where something froze the screen for about a minute. Could swipe to unlock but once I got to my home screen nothing was responsive. Took a few minutes of locking/unlocking to get it back together. I force quit the phone app and that seems to have resolved it. Other than that, so smooth. And I've heard the OTA update improves screen responsiveness so we'll see.

Stopping the Weather app and clearing its data does fix the issue. It's most definitely a bug, but after I did that it hasn't returned.

That's exactly what it is, 512mb is reserved for the system. You'll find this on all Android phones, although the amount will vary. I had a Thunderbolt before, it only had 750mb of RAM and only 512mb available for use.
