HTC One: This is THE BUG Thread.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

man i was really beginning to like this phone. this week, not so much...(i am new to droid so i am not sure these are bugs)

1. i still have the arbitrary reappearance of the lockscreen i set to 'no lockscreen' weeks ago. i have selected and unselected and restarted and restarted. i even removed one of the three new apps i had installed to no avail. i suppose i could remove the other two but they're far more useful than google keep which i found redundant.

2. this morning i have not been able to send images using SMS. is this a bug? a phone problem? a t-mobile problem? frustrated.

any suggestions greatly appreciated. thank you!!

What's happening when you try to send images?

hi. i get three little grey dots (status?) next to the photo and then eventually a red vertical bar appears on the left side of the picture with an explanation point in it. here's where it gets really weird: it is/was only happening with one person. i successfully sent pics via sms to two other people yesterday. AND i deleted and re-added said contact and still found no success. it's after 7am here, let me try again...

looks like it worked! no idea why...or, why not.

i never did perform a factory reset. the occasional re-appearing lockscreen hasn't revealed itself for several hours. when i get an incoming call, it appears. unless the phone is in my hand, in which case i get a standard incoming call screen with accept or decline buttons to press instead of flick like the lockscreen. weird. but not a total annoyance.

UPDATE: just tried sending two photos via textra to the same person. first went through. second failed. ugh!

UPDATE 2: i think it's a TEXTRA issue. uninstalling...

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

I have the same problem! It stopped working after the Google Maps update. Maybe the function is no longer supported??

Let me know if someone finds a solution to it.

Same here,

For some odd reason I cannot access google maps anymore from my phone contacts.
When I have a contact with adress, and I tap on the address field, nothing happens.

Normally it should either ask me what to do or open up in google maps right?

Any solution yet?

Not a solution, but a workaround.... Just search your contact name from within the maps app.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not. At google play store, when i click the app to see its ratings, reviews or screenshot of the app it lags and the bubble is highlighted and it doesn't open only until i press another application then it opens. Anyone have any idea what it is or how to resolve it?
Sorry if my explanation isn't too clear, thanks in advance!

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Some problems I've been having with the 4.2.2 update include Google Now opening without a clear swipe up from the home button, and very slow, stuttery performance when moving around the notification toggles screen.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

hey guys, looked all over for a solution to this problem. The stock browser on my HTC one doesnt allow me to scroll diagonally. It works but intermittently, everything else is great. It scrolls perfectly on chrome but on the stock HTC browser, Dolphin, boat and some other browsers I tried, diagonal scrolling is either sporadic or just doesnt work. Any suggestions would be great.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Hi All,

Got my HTC One on ATT a few days ago and I love this phone. However, I can't get it to lock on to a single GPS satellite.

Here's what I've tried so far:
Factory reset
Clear and update AGPS data
Update all Google apps
Disable all Google apps
Pull and replace SIM card
Turn off fast reboot

The GPS status tool consistently shows 0 satellites out of 16-22 satellites under a wide open sky. The accuracy is there down to about 500m so weather location is correct but street level navigation is useless.

Has anyone ever seen this before? Is there anything else I can try or did I just get a dud?

Called HTC and they had no clue. I'm trying to get ATT to give me a replacement but I've gone to 3 stores and they all magically claim out of stock even when I called to confirm.

Suggestions or help are appreciated..

Go into your location settings and make sure the use GPS satellite function is enabled. It's disabled by default even if you enabled location settings.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Ive noticed when the phone is locked and you enter a pass code (4 digit) and if you incorrectly enter it, i refreshes the unlock code and once i enter 2 of the digits it automatically refreshes again 2x before it stays.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

I guess i'll add some buggy things i've just come upon. I just got this thursday, 2 days ago to replace my 3 year old evo that was way passed its prime.

1. While typing in a text box in a forum i've found that randomly the last word in a row will not respond to the space bar, i keep hitting space and it won't put a space, so when i type the next word they are strung together.
Update 9/17/13: using Google keyboard solved this little bug.

2. Again a typing/text box issue, while typing with the phone plugged into my computer I've had several typos where a totally screwed up word gets inserted and double words occurring, it occurred even when typing carefully to see what it would do.
Update: it has been ten more days and I have not experienced this issue anymore.

3. Update: the data dropping problems I had were just the 4g kicking back to 3g due to poor service in this area. However, I experienced a 20+ minute loss of data at my work one night back when I originally posted. I haven't exoerienced anything like that again so I am chhalking that up to Sprints network.

4. The weather app doesn't update which I've seen other people had the same problem. - still have to manually refresh, oh well.

5. Have a small piece of dust under the glass of the screen that is partly over the LCD panel, very very small, took days to notice. Update: FYI Sprint considered the dust to be "cosmetic" and thus required the $35 to restocking fee to exchange.

6. Update: New bug, apparently this is big, but my phone's camera has the purple tint issue, in low lighting it gets an awful blue/purple/pink haze. There is a 150+ page thread on XDA forums, tons of people's phones are experiencing it, HTC is supposedly going to fix it with a software update soon. As I said over there, with one day left if my 14 day trial period it puts me in an awkward position on whether to ride it out or eject.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Hello just joined the forum and having an issue with my HTC One. I just got this one yesterday after I had to exchange my original one due to a faulty lower speaker. The new one I have I'm experiencing a problem with that I never had with the original. The problem is with sound control. Occasionally the sound control with not work incorrectly. Occasionally the phone will not output any sound. This typically happens after an app is opened and then I hit the home button. What will happen is the phone will have no sound after it is reopened. Moving the rocker up or down will have no effect, on screen the volume will be shown to be rising but will be silent. When this happens I also lose control of the ability to control ring volume. After hitting the home button and going back to the main screen the rocker will still only control the speaker volume. So even if I move it down to the point where it would typically show the vibrate icon it won't show or vibrate. Going into the settings won't let me fix this either. Restarting the phone is the only fix I have found. first time I had this happen with the sound going out I hit *#*#3424#*#* a combo shown my by HTCs support and I ran the speaker test and they both work perfectly with no problems. Upon exiting the sound text the sound and sound control will be back to normal. So anyone have any ideas what is going on?

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

Hi, I have been using HTC ONE for a couple of months now and I noticed recently (after upgrading to 4.2.2) that the speaker volume has dropped down substantially. I mean, when I got my HTC ONE, it was literally LOUD and CRISP. But now, I don't get that quality of speaker sound. Even while listening through headphones, I witness a drop in the volume. Tried everything from changing BEATS status, soft reset but nothing is working. Can anyone, kindly, help me out to sort this issue. Because, for me, HTC ONE is all about loud speakers. Please let me know if this can be sorted out.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

That's not a bug. They made it this way. It's nothing you can do if you want to remain stock unrooted.

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

I've looked and found a couple of mentions about the screen displaying rainbow colors, but the 2 for the One involve squeezing the phones sides. I've only had it for about 3 or 4 weeks and it has always done this, when I plug it in to anything that charges it, wall, USB, etc, the screen will come on then streak rainbow colors from top to bottom. The whole screen is colored side to side top to bottom and it almost looks intentional. You can press the power button and the true display comes back and press it again and the screen goes off. If you turn it off as soon as it the screen lights from being plugged in this won't happen. It won't wake the screen to do this, it happens when you let the screen time out while plugged in. Otherwise the phone works fine. My fear is that this is not good for the screen, and that if I allow it to happen uncontrolled that it will damage my screen, maybe like leaving a ghost impression the way demo model tvs have, or something worse. Besides it kind of sucks that every time I plug in I have to make sure the screen is either on if I'm going to use it or off to stop this from happening.

Is this happening to anyone else, should I try to get a replacement before my time is up?

Re: This is THE BUG Thread.

just a post as seen this was a bugs thread. i don't know if its a bug but no one knows what it is or whats caused it. when i logged out of the facebook app and logged back in it came up this made prevention thing saying facebook was trying to access my phone so it was forced to stop. (samsung galaxy s4) and that if i updated the poilicy issues on my phone it would solve this, yet when you clicked update it would then fail to do so. i took it back the shop it came from who then swapped my handset and it done the same on the new one so i then thought it was my facebook but it done the same when my husband used facebook on my phone HELP PLEASEsam.jpg
