HTC One = Total Fail?

Actually, to those saying that most customers don't care about an SD card slot is wrong. There are VERY few that do care for a removeable battery, but an SD card slot is probably the #2 thing people dislike about iPhones. I work at RadioShack and pretty much sell phones all day. I ask for opinions on why people choose Android over iOS or iOS over Android. The #1 answer with Android over iOS is the bigger screen and #2 is SD card slot.

Removeable battery RARELY comes up in the discussion so it's safe to say consumers either don't care or don't even think about it. But fi you're going to make a phone without the option to remove/upgrade the battery then the battery better be damn good inside that phone.

Only problem with that theory is only a minority still find Radio Shack relevant so unless you can show numbers that prove these people wrong, then this is merely your opinion.

This is from me, on my EVO 3D.

I would have thought the number 1 reason for choosing either one over the other would be the differences in operating systems.

People buy phones at Radio Shack?

Just a thought,
i have read that to repair this phone is almost impossible, on a score of 1 to 10 the iphone 5 is a 7 to repair, the HTC One is 1 !! they suggest a repair would be a major problem. So when the phone was out of guarantee and a new battery was required how would you change it? or if the screen was broken, then surely a new phone is the only option.
Do you want something that can't be repaired?

I think the iPhone 5 was actually lower than that. I might be mistaken though.

Look, I'm generally down for a good argument, but this is just silly. It's the same old crap that was being debated when the S3 and One X came out. If you want a sexier phone with a better screen and don't care about a removable battery or SD cards, buy the One. If you need loads of physical storage and don't have access to a charger on a daily basis, buy the S4. It's really that simple.

I know debate is good entertainment for you folks, but this one has been done to death. Buy the phone that suits you and stop going to other boards and knocking others for their choice. PRETTY, PRETTY, PRETTY PLEASE.

Sense 5 may be the first version that doesn't kill the phone. That's a bigger deal to me than being able to take the battery out of the phone.

It's not very sexy when your phone lags all the time and caller I'd won't even work. And not very sexy when you're waiting months for an update to fix it because htc doesn't acknowledge or fix bugs.

The point of all of it is htc has to show that they've got their act together before I'll ever really care how sexy the phone looks. It's not as simple as sd cards and batteries

OK, I'll concede to that. I'm probably a little out of touch here, because I only use my phones with CM10 or AOKP. I consider BOTH Sense and Touchwiz to be ugly, slow bastardizations of proper AOSP.

Where are the sales figures with the iphone with a removable battery ??
There are none and there won't ever be any. If Apple sees iPhone sales free fall then maybe something changes. But they continue to sell tens and tens of millions every year so obviously they (and the people who continue to buy them) are pretty content with the battery situation. Could they sell more with a removable battery? Probably. Will they invest the time and resources to accomplish that? Doubtful, since they continue to sell more each year.

If I were to over generalize I would call sense pretty but bloated at crippling and TouchWiz as uglier but more functional. And at the end of the day I'll take functional and supported.

That's not to say things will always be that way

I don't like the small number of icons on the huge Note 2 screen. It seems silly to me. I've I installed Nova Launcher as a work around. But I haven't noticed any loss of features. Which ones will the Nova Launcher eliminate?

I'm actually not sure to be honest. It seems like you couldn't do the multiple app running in the same window or the playing a video while viewing other stuff.

These are not things I really care a about but assumed you could not do them along with other stuff. If it doesn't affect anything that's cool. It seems like there is something else but I can't remember what.

Anyway, if it doesn't affect any features that's even better.

Yeh but to say theres no need for a removable battery because ifone sales are doing great is stupid(i know you didnt say this) ... If they had a removable model and normal one then that point is valid cus it can be proved

Personally, I'd go with not ugly, functional and supported, which AOSP certainly is.

Not nearly as functional as touch wiz.

I would install AOSP but it would remove all the great features of my phone without replacing them with anything. Why buy a Samsung phone then disable the features that make it such a great phone?

I've just checked the functionality of both the split screen and the small overlapping video playback. Both features work through Nova Launcher. As far as I can tell the Note 2 is fully operational through Nova Launcher.

it appears to me they have My DNA is an excellent phone with zero issues, and already got an update, every manufacturer of smartphone have had some sort of failed unit,i could say the same about Samsung touchwiz is a bloated mess, and if can remember Samsung had more issues with poor call reception, signal lose, and last not forget a near impossible screen to see outside.

They already have. You clearly haven't used any recent HTC hardware.

Lol, come back to us when your done with the phone after two years and tell us how many updates you got in your last year of your contract...
I went from GB to ICS quite quickly. But nothing since, now that the 2012 phones replaced HTC's priority list of my evo3d.

And how can I trust a word HTC says when they are planning the same type of marketing strategy as last year...one phone for all this year? Apparently not.
You can get it in 64gig flavor? Not unless your on ATT. Build quality? Haha. Low light camera...yes, but still over sharpening and white balance still off in full auto under tungsten lightning like for over 3 years on your cameras? When will HTC learn, when will you address such issues? Blinkfeed that can't be turned off or allow me to move android central to the top? Still giving me unfinished and unpolished works of art, is what blinkfeed is.

I could go on but lue has a point...HTC needs to earn our trust right now. Mark my words...HTC will have the One+ on Verizon in a few months after the rest of us get the one. Just like last year.
To me, this spells failure. Unless you think last year was a great year for HTC.

Blame sprint. If they don't want it to get another update, it won't.

Laughable. The build quality is better than anything samsung can come up with. The rest of your criticisms are just your personal preferences, not any actual defects.

Pay more attention. Verizons version will have the exact same specs. Also not quite sure what you mean by just like last year. If you're talking about the DNA, then that's a non starter. That's a completely different handset from the one X.
