After 24hours with the HTC ONE here is my quick and dirty cheat-sheet for Sprint Customers considering the switch from the EVO LTE:

Pros:

Front facing dual speakers
Build quality is as impressive as advertised
Camera much better in low lighting and more accurate overall
Sense 5.0 gives a very polished feel and quite posibly the most professional Android Skin made to date
Processing speed combined with double the RAM = Fluidity
1080P Screen, second to none

Suckiness:

No Simultaneous Voice and Data on 3G (SVDO), LTE not a problem
Degraded call quality, ear speaker is sub-par when compared directly to an EVO LTE
4G data radio is as bad as the HTC EVO LTE
No dedicated camera button
Hardware buttons for power & volume have almost no tactile feel, frustratingly bad (case solved this for me)
Menu buttons are everywhere on apps with no way to remove
Some widgets not optimized for Sense 5.0 and margins don't align properly (hint: Android Central widget)
HTC Logo replaced the home button, home button replaced multi-task button = net loss of one button for non-funtional logo
No kickstand

Upgrade cost: $200 + $36 Activation Fee + Tax =$250+
Verdict= A number of needless trade-off's combined with incremental improvements make this phone less compelling than it could have been.
Verdict after 2 Months as Daily Driver= Best phone I've ever used and looking forward to a larger screen next year. Sense is definitely headed in the right direction. Glad I made the upgrade.

Pro's: Everything reviewers have gushed about.
Con's: It's not an Evo.

Wait, not being an Evo is a con? I would have put that in the Pro column. I'm curious about the following items: "SD card Capable, Degraded Call Quality and 4G Data Radio is Bad"

After side-by-side testing using both the EVO and the ONE, the ONE fell short in terms of earpiece performance. I would describe the sound quality as somewhat muted and surprisingly flat. The effect was more pronounced since I was able to do an immediate comparison to the EVO. It didn't sound like a high quality device with crystal clarity whereas the EVO sounded natural as if the person was almost in the same room.

The EVO's 4G radio is known not to be very good at holding onto an LTE signal. Given this glaring weakness the hope was that the matter was laid to rest. It certainly has not and by comparison the Samsung S3 (the S4 remains to be tested) would tenaciously hold onto LTE where the EVO or ONE simply cannot.

The SD card slot was a figment of my imagination and the ONE does not have one.

Now I really want to see a Verizon version of the One because I'm curious if it's an HTC issue or a Sprint issue. Thanks for the additional info!

While I agree with some of your assessments I personally have no issue with the call quality it has been superb on my HTC one. Lte signal for me is on par with the note2 and s3 they all lost lte in the same areas and produced similar speeds. For me the biggest pluses are the additional ram and software that is much better than sense 4. Oh and as far as lte I had the LG optimus g note 2 s3 evo lte and iPhone 5 thus phone is just as good as most of them but much better than the optimus.

I am 24hrs into using the HTC One and I can quite honestly say I am not that impressed.
The EVO LTE had a better more natural feel and is definitely way more convenient compared to the One
I have no clue what possessed them to move the top button to the left side and move the home button.
The HTC One has a feel that it is specifically built for a left handed person. The side buttons are too flat/even as I myself find it difficult to adjust the volume and power on with 1 hand.
You can not fully grip the phone to power the screen on and off.
The absolute thing I can;t stand the most about this phone is that they put the outlet to plug in and charge on the bottom of the phone.
WIth my EVO 4G LTE I could sit the phone upright in my car and charge it. My car has a dedicated spot in front of the arm rest to put the phone.
For users that never experienced the EVO 4G LTE, the HTC One is a great phone.
I have 13 more days to go in regards to getting a full refund. Hopefully my opinion changes.

That's exactly how I felt after day one as well. Thankfully the more you use it the more you will appreciate how polished Sense 5.0 makes this phone exude premium quality. I may still try out a Galaxy S4 but I'm increasingly appreciating the experience of what this phone offers as far as the OS experience.

My comments are below in bold.

After 24hours with the HTC ONE here is my quick and dirty cheat-sheet for Sprint Customers considering the switch from the EVO LTE:

Pros:

Front facing dual speakers
--They are nice :)
Build quality is as impressive as advertised
--I agree
Camera much better in low lighting and more accurate overall
--Huge improvement on the camera...low light is crazy good!
Sense 5.0 gives a very polished feel
--It seemed ok but I went back to Nova launcher
Processing speed combined with double the RAM = Fluidity
--Phone is lightning quick
1080P Screen, second to none
--It's really great but not as much of a leap as the Evo LTE's was over the 3D

Suckiness:

No Simultaneous Voice and Data (SVDO)
--Doesn't bother me at all.
Degraded call quality, ear speaker is sub-par when compared directly to an EVO LTE
--I actually think the call quality is better.
4G data radio is as bad as the HTC EVO LTE
--It is? We're just getting LTE here in STL but from what I've read around S4GRU, it's an improvement.
No dedicated camera button
--I never used that anyway.
Hardware buttons for power & volume have almost no tactile feel, frustratingly bad
--They are sleeker but with my Otterbox, the volume rocker is easier to use. I'm actually used to the power button already.
Menu buttons are everywhere on apps with no way to remove
--I'm running a custom ROM so this is taken care of.
Some widgets not optimized for Sense 5.0 and margins don't align properly (hint: Android Central widget)
--I haven't run across any problems but I'll take your word for it...they are likely just things I dont use.
HTC Logo replaced the home button, home button replaced multi-task button = net loss of one button for non-funtional logo
--I've got the Wolfpack kernel on my phone so the HTC button has been remapped to the Menu button. It's nice....real nice. ;)
No kickstand
--This is the biggest complaint I have.

Upgrade cost: $200 + $36 Activation Fee + Tax =$250+

Hello, I'm new here. I have an iPhone 5 on sprint and I had the evo 4g lte and gs3 before. The LTE signal on the iPhone 5 was way better than the evo and gs3. Since you have both the iPhone 5 and htc one, can you please tell me if the signal reception and lte speeds are better on the iPhone or the One? And also, do you think that it's worth it to upgrade from ip5 to the one? Thank you in advance.

IPhone was better. After continuous use with this phone I've noticed the radio is a tad bit weak. The upgrade depends on what you will use your phone for if you like android and want to try it out by all means go ahead but just to be clear the camera is better on the iPhone in most conditions call quality is better on the iPhone. While boomsound is great while playing music through Pandora you can easily tell the iPhone is louder at full volume. But the biggest thing you will have to watch out for are slow charge times the HTC one charges ridiculously slow. I mean at a quarter of the speed of an iPhone 5 trust me I charged them both side by side while in the car and the HTC one gained 20 percent in an hour while the iPhone charged over 70% in that same time period. But that's not to say the HTC one doesn't have it's pros like the larger more pixel dense screen , the boom sound speakers are great for gaming and watching videos. The best I can say is wait until ios 7 is released then try them both. As for me I'm probably going to be selling my HTC one and picking up the next iPhone.

Thanks a lot. Looks like I will keep the iphone until the next batch of phones come out in the fall. Again, thanks.

Is this also the case for the Samsung galaxy s4 vs the iphone 5?

I can't say for sure about the s4 because I passed that phone up limited flash memory and higher prices killed that phone for me.

I had the evo and bought the one off contract and it's the best thing I've done . I think the sound quality is excellent and the reception is good only things I miss are the kick stand and I don't like the 3 dots for menu button but that will be fixed in the 4.2.2 update . The evo to me was a great phone but I think the one is better . The speaker volumn is great and the camera is excellent .
