HTC Rezound vs Galaxy Nexus

They are different type screens. Amoled vs slcd. Which is better is in the eye of the beholder, personal preference.

The amoled is more vibrant but oversaturated, the slcd is a truer color but not as vibrant. The amoled in gn is pentile, that seems to annoy some people, others don't mind. This is a pretty good comparison of the two screens.

I think it's also worth noting that gaining superuser access. Third party software is available to adjust color levels. If a GNex is to much, tone it down. Rez not saturated enough for you, turn it up. It may not be as under or over saturated but it will be in the same neighborhood.

Lol. I find it amusing you were complaining of all the issues you were experiencing with your Nexus. Now you're out and about bashing this old technology that works so well.
I am the first one to admit that the GNex is not perfect, heck, I complain any time I have a problem and don't try to claim these phones are bug free, they are not.

I am putting off my final judgment until the OTA update, though.

Even if I decide that they can't fix the problems, the GNex has an awesome screen, is not too thin, not too wide like the Razr, not too thick, not too heavy like the Rezound and just feels good in my hand. ICS is da bomb and I was able to unlock and root easily even being a total newbie. Flashed 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 radios and flashed back to stock. All in one night and I am a total newbie.

I doubt I will ever have a non-Nexus phone again.

At a difference of 20 grams between the Rezound and the Gnex, I really wish people would stop using that as some sort of determination as to whether to go with phone A or phone B. It's essentially the weight of 4 nickels. Not exactly bone breaking weight there.

When you are holding something in your hand or carrying it around in your pocket or your purse all day, it matters.

If I didn't have anything else in my purse, 20 grams may not be much. But when I carry around a wallet with 5 credit cards, my driver's license, money, change, 27 discount/rewards cards, a makeup bag with 2 lipsticks, 2 glosses, mascara, powder, concealer, primer, 2 eyeliners, a package of blotting papers, lip liner, perfume, bronzer, 3 blushes, makeup remover wipes, nail polish, polish remover and q-tips, hairbrush, hairspray, hair clips, breath mints, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a nail file, cuticle clippers and 3 different kinds of tampons, an extra 20 grams is the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Out of curiousity, what do you think of the HTC One X? Have you seen any benchmarks on the S4 chipset? As much as I like about the GN, I could never make such a bold statement as that knowing I can unlock and root almost any phone I purchase.

The rezound feels so much better in the hand than the nexus. I can even operate it with one hand. The final reason i chose it over the nexus was for feel in hand(that and rampant signal complaints). The nexus is too wide and way too tall. And that is the only reason that i chose it over the nightmare to hold razr.

IMO these developers need to work on getting hardware smaller and battery life better before putting these massive screens on them. Just like the razr proves, you can make it thinner, but the other dimensions suffer.

SU requires root, some aren't willing to do it.

I thought the HTC One X looks nice from the pictures. It is very similar looking in dimensions to the GNex, but I don't know if what I was looking at is the final version or not.

While you may be seasoned enough to be able to unlock and root almost any phone, I am not. A Nexus is easier to do that on.

I have only played with Sense in the VZW stores and didn't see the added value if it caused a performance lag, which I have read it does, although I am not sure that it does.

I say that only as a purveyor of those who can hack phones, for root access. I'm dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to doing that stuff on my own. I'd be okay w/ my choice but a bit unsatified w/ the Rezound if it hadn't been cracked open by someone.

Unless you use a rooted phone for yourself it's really unfair to judge it against a locked oem, demo model on display in a store. There are variables at play but the differences in performance, far more often than not are like night and day, as far as user experience goes. So don't rush your overall judgement on a device based on what you see being what you get.

That's exactly why I want to see the mythical creature dubbed the Galaxy B.

That's really such a sad comeback after the weight example I gave. Then again, if you can tell the difference in weight of 20grams in your purse, then I'm forced to assume that you must also be the princess from the children's tale "The Princess and the Pea"

(The Princess and the Pea if you're not familiar with the story)

That being said I mean no disrespect, only to point out the absurdity of trying to say that a weight difference of 20 grams is "the straw that broke the camel's back".

If you'd humor me, can we try a little experiment? Get 4 nickels. Hand them to someone close to you, be it a friend, significant other, or family member (please, do not hand them to children). Instruct them to wait an unspecified amount of time, and then sneak those nickels into your purse, making absolutely sure that you have no knowledge of when the action has transpired. If you notice the difference, then I believe mi'lady you've got a Prince somewhere waiting for his bride.

I don't commit myself to familiarizing... myself with the contents of a women's purse. For all I know you could have the universe in there and I'd be none the wiser. :P

That being said, you're joke obviously flew right over my head haha. (And I believe my Y chromosome also blocked the word "tampon" from my initial reading of your purse contents).

I have small, even for a girl (shoe size 6) hands and the GNex doesn't feel too wide. The Rezound feels too thick, though.

spec wize rezound is thick but trust me it fits in the hand very well. I had the droid charge and its a big phone hard to operate with one hand. i tried to use it with one hand but I drop it all the time. eventually I drop for the last screen face down and the glass crack.
