HTC Rezound vs Galaxy Nexus

I just jumped ship to the GNex last night and honestly I am way happier then I was with the Rezound. I gave it a two month shot but it just didn't work out for me.

Main Problems:

The phone did not get good reception at my house. The GNEX is doing better.
The Rexound seemed sluggish at times. Probably because of Sense. Tried Rooting yesterday and that just led to other problems.
After the OTA I started getting frequent boot-looping. It happened 4 times in a two week period and the only solution which worked was a factory Reset each time.

Of what other problems do ye speak?

Froze on the 4GLTE screen during Reboot after trying to use CleanRom 2.4 ICSE. Finally got it to correctly boot into CleanRom 1.7 GBE but ended up getting the bootloop after about a half an hour. Verizon tech support said there was a problem with the phone so I just returned it for the GNex.

You returned the phone stuck in the bootloop, while running CleanRom?

Rezound is old technology. Anyone looking to buy a new HTC device should wait to see what HTC showcases at MWC.

Good point b/c the GPU in the Gnex is leading the way in cutting edge technology.

Well then the new HTC devices should have it, too, only they won't be so thick, heavy and ugly. And hopefully they won't have the mirror-like reflective glass and the way undersaturated colors of the Rezound screen.

Saturation is based on what the stock settings are upon leaving the factory. Once you root you can dl software to tweak the capacitators to whatever level of saturation you see fit. So the Rezound can be oversaturated as well.

That's great, but you can't tweak it so that it is not thick, heavy and ugly. You can put an anti-glare screen protector on its screen, but that will dim it making it hard to see outdoors anyhow.

Those are all personal opinions, one mans garbage is another mans treasure, get over it. Both phones are fast and do their jobs well. They all have their flaws and highlights and not a single one of them leaves the other eating dust. Though we may see ones that will @ MWC. Either way what we have now are the best carrier controlled phones anyone is the States will own for several months. Even then we will still own fast phones that exceed anything that came before them.

Why did you have to remind me of that. If they decide to carry that I've gotta sell my Rez. It's not looking good from what I last read about it. Have said anything since the petition thingamahbob article?

I haven't had a chance to really read up on it.

I've owned both (still own the Rezound). Rezound screen is better. You can take that as my opinion, but even reviews of the technology and hardware state it as a fact.

I'd like to see those reviews?
Major reason i got gnex over rezound was its cpu, display and audio quality.

I know for a fact that samsung makes samoled and superclear lcd from SMD and super lcd from s-lcd.
Sony and HTC get their displays from samsung and what you are claiming is that samsung is so stupid to provide other manufacturers better display and its cheaper than they use.

Lol. I find it amusing you were complaining of all the issues you were experiencing with your Nexus. Now you're out and about bashing this old technology that works so well.

HTC get their displays from Sony. As for the GNex's audio quality, it might sound alright......if you can actually hear it.

They are different type screens. Amoled vs slcd. Which is better is in the eye of the beholder, personal preference.

The amoled is more vibrant but oversaturated, the slcd is a truer color but not as vibrant. The amoled in gn is pentile, that seems to annoy some people, others don't mind. This is a pretty good comparison of the two screens.

It's been months since I read any reviews on the subject but I'm highly skeptical any tech. reviewer would state the screen hardware on the HTC is better. It's just not true, even w/ it's minor limitations, amoled is superior use of screen technology. What you will read in every article out there is that the Rezound is the sharpest resolution phone available on this planet. Now I must ask you, show me one review that doesn't. That's a wrap folks, shows over.

This nothing to do w/ the thread topic but, since you brought this^ up and it's a similiar situation. You say they are smart and wouldn't supply a competitor w/ better hardware, correct? In case you're unaware of this. Sammy is under contract by Apple to produce the engine of the iPhone 4S. They manufacture all ARM processors in-house. Apples is spec'd as a 1ghz dual core but it's underclocked it to 800mhz. Go look at the benchmark scores of that phone vs. anything spec'd & produced by Sammy. I'll wait here, go check that out...............Notice how it slaughters their #s. Yes, hardware optimization, is a big part of it but definitely not the whole story. Knowing that and the fact that Apple is suing the bejesus out of them( and everybody else, right now). Tell me they don't make bonehead decisions.
