HTC screwed themselves by not releasing this on Verizon

ITT:
People who think Verizon cares about anything other than the iPhone.

Or anything other than a droid labeled phone. The s3 was one of the best sellers on VZW, tried a few times last year to buy accessories and had to go to the Sprint store to buy them. They really pissed me off and I let them know it.

This could be good for HTC. In contrast to what everyone else is saying, if Verizon passes on the One now HTC and att will be pushing the advertising for the one getting the name and features out there. 2 months later Verizon releases the HTC DROID (whatever) that is essentially the same as the One. Possibly Different color or larger screen. Maybe it will shoot lasers out that tattoo the Verizon logo on your corneas. HTC can smartly make Verizon pay for the advertising, and gain not only more handset users and free commercials, but also a sustained marketing push and association with customers loyal to the DROID brand.

These are the kind of things that happen in boardrooms and on conference calls we shouldn't care about. That is how the business works whether we like it and agree with it or not.

For a company fighting for it's life they should've done everything they can to get this phone on Big Red. Millions of potential sales are down the drain. I know there's rumors of a rebadged one in a few months from now, but it will be too late by then. S4 will eat a majority of those sales by the time it arrives (if it even does).

I seem to remember a certain company(Apple) being rejected by a certain company(Verizon) to sell it's brand new, revolutionary, world changing smartphone(OG iPhone). See how well that worked for Verizon for four years. Point being, once HTC can get recognition with the ONE series and demand for the phone(s), Verizon will be begging to have the phone.

I'm sure HTC wanted Verizon to carry it. Not always there choice

err.... second largest...
Nope, it's pretty general knowledge that Verizon is the largest.

- at&t is larger (in terms of subscribers AND coverage - and i'm saying that while NOT being an at&t customer)
Check the coverage maps again. I hate Verizon but I know they have the most coverage.

and second worst.
Yup, I agree on that. Just behind AT&T and far ahead of Sprint. Far behind T-Mo.

All the carriers suck. They only differentiate themselves on how badly they suck and in which specific ways they suck.

I happen to love the carriers in my country, my current carrier(Vodafone NZ) gave me 1GB of data because they wrongly said I used up all my data on my 500mb plan, then a second incident, a moron decided to cut the Internet wire to my house Vodafone fixed it free of charge the very next day so speak for yourself:)

They are idiots your stupid carrier can't tell good products(OG iPhone, HTC One) and decide not to carry it.

I, my family, and most of my friends are on Verizon. I have an Iphone 5, but I got a line on ATT in order to get the HTC One. This phone will do that to you. Verizon's loss.

Vodafone NZ? Of course you love them! You live in Middle Earth, what's not to love about that? You're probably enjoying a nice fall day on your porch in the Shire as we speak. Or in Rivendell, take your pick.

What do you pay for 500mb/mo?

I agree, not just any phone, but the right phone will have scores of people lining up to switch carrier. That's exactly what happened to me. I was a Sprint customer for over 5 years befor switching to ATT for the iPhone 3G when on the first day it came out, and I'm sure that I wasn't the only one.

We have fibre!!!! We aren't uncivilized, low tech people!!!
That wasn't an insult at all.

You must not be a Lord if the Rings fan. Ironic, since you live where they filmed it and you're getting The One Phone, while they dealt with The One Ring.

Is that with unlimited mins and text? Because T-Mobile, our cheapest carrier, has that for $50 ($59 for you). Wow.

No 5000 texts. remember our carriers don't "double dip" so if we have 5000 texts the receiver and sender don't get charged, same with calls(except my plan gives me 50 mins)
