HTC Sensation hardware (sort of) question

I just got an universal charger for phones and I have a question regarding to it.

Since the original charger's output current is 1A, the one I got has 1.5A. Will it charge my phone without harming it?

I was told that these phones regulate the charger's output, so I shouldn't worry, but I'm looking for an expert's opinion on this before I try to charge it.

You're right that almost all modern smartphones will only take from the charger what they can accept. I almost exclusively use 2.0A/2.1A chargers for my devices to ensure two things. First, the phones can charge as fast as they're capable of doing. Second, I can use my chargers for tablets as well as phones and not worry about whether or not the charger is rated at a high enough current for the tablet to charge at a decent rate.

You won't have any issues with a 1.5A charger; in fact, you should notice a decrease in charging time.
