Also earlier today from google there was a link to the site and it said pre order the HTC thunderbolt.

Yes. "Soon" could be next week, the week after, or sometime in April, however.

if it strikes in April, it'll have lost at least a quarter of those originally intending on purchasing the phone. pure speculation, based on the amount of people in other sites threads stating they couldn't wait and went for an Atrix or iPhone instead.

if it's April--they better have revamped some specs to make it more competitive with any proximity to the Bionic release and Evo2 announcement...or else VZW's gonna be kicking themselves in the nuts for holding it back so long.

the HTC site has "The wait is over" as one of its sub headings under overview. Unfortunately it was just talking about web page loading on the phone due to 4G speeds.
