HTC Software update available incl. Menu button fix

I didn't read this one posted yet...
Can go directly to the alarms set-up page now, without having it go to the world clock first, then choosing the alarms tab. That annoyed me so I'm glad that has been changed. However, I can't seem to set the Recent Apps button to act as a menu. I've set it to do so, but I don't get the menu for some reason. ...Ah, now I am getting the menu. Cool.
~K~

Menu doesn't work on the home screen for me, just in the apps.

After running this update for more than a day now, I can safely say that all of my problems are gone. My multitasking, most importantly, works the way it should. The irritating 3 dots at the bottom of pages is eliminated with the new menu options. My battery life is as long or perhaps longer then it has ever been. I am no longer needing to root my phone. Everything I want in the phone now works.
The frosting on the cake is that in my area I have 4G LTE wherever I go with unlimited data. I can't imagine anything better than this.
I'm one happy camper.

I can't wait till October when the official rollout for my lte is deployed. As for the reloading I'm quite happy with it as well as well as the stupid 3 dot menu. Screens alot bigger how it should be.

I tried updating the firmware manually cause it wouldnt come thru for nothing then I got this Data Call Failure Error 67. and when I search that up it say to check my phone profile but when I did that I had all gibber message as my profile username. I have no idea what cause this I'm hoping it someone on the internet that can help me if not I'm making my first visit to the Sprint Store and let them figure it out.

I'm thinking the update was interrupted or something with the firmware cause it to happen.

No more network disconnect and 3g seems to be much faster. Freakin awesome!

I have never set any personal ring tones before but last night set some for the first time and they seem be working. I have a very funny one set for my wife and the guys at work are still laughing after just hearing it when she called.

Same here after a day of use my battery is longer than ever. No connectivity problems and phone is one smooth machine. This is what I expected and KUDOS to HTC for rolling out a fix in a timely fashion even when everyone was wondering about support in the light of some tough financial times for them. Not only a sound phone but also sound support. That's why I'm with HTC.

You're also a half inch taller and look about 3 years younger.

I hope HTC sees the praise on these forums as well as the criticism. I can safely say I will always stay with HTC after the way I have been treated with this phone.

I had been waiting to see how good the update really is before contacting HTC. But it looks like now is the time. I believe positive feedback is just as important as negative feedback. Unfortunately, up to now, I have had nothing to offer HTC except negative.

I do encourage others to contact HTC and thank them.

I wanted to take a moment and thank you for the recent EVO LTE update that was sent out earlier this week. You have greatly improved the multitasking/task switching with this release, something that has been TERRIBLY annoying for the three months I have had this phone.

And the option to change the "recently used" button to be a "menu" button is also fantastic. Plus other nice refinements were included, and noticed.

Please keep up the good work, I am looking forward to seeing further improvements and also Android 4.1 (JellyBean)!

Finally got it working whew!! I had to jump thru a lot of hoops cause no one knew a fix to my problems but XDA develop website they told me to reflash the stock RUU then to update the phone thru my wifi I was so happy it worked too I save gas and avoided going to the sprint store.

Now I can finally experience what everyone on Andriod Central is experiencing.

Ok finally in a 4G area in Kansas City now. Thank god I'm holding the 4G signal strong now where as prior to the update it would toggle on and off with 3g and eat my battery up.

The battery life on this has been insane after the update. Hope they fix the ringtone bug and screw it give it even more multitasking love, no reloads at all. I do have to say the switching between apps, and even opening them are faster then ever. Me happy
