I could have sworn I saw the HTC sync on my Rezound but do ya think I can find it when I wanna try it? Maybe I imagined it? Does it come on the phone, if so where or must I download it?

I need to sync Android/Outlook - is HTC sync a good choice for this or should I keep my Companion Link for my Deja Office?

you need to download htc sync manager from HTC and then open it and conect your phone to your laptop via usb and it will sync you can set the setting as what to sync in the manager
make sure on the phone check usb debuging on your settings
good luck

Keeps telling me there's no device connected. Downloaded the .exe file to my computer. When I go to the Market and search for HTC Sync (thinking I need to download an app to my phone, too??) and get search results, not a single one I click on gets me to an HTC Sync app. Very strange.

HTC sync is always on your phone. Unless you remove it with root(or one of the temp means). Installing the PC version will also allow you to utilize sync. Until you install it your phone will not be recognized. Once you have sync installed, when you plug your phone in it will prompt you with a choice of charge only, mounting your sd card, or HTC sync.

Be sure to check that in Settings | Sync (?) you have it set to ask what type of USB connection, or default to Sync.

For me, HTC Sync didn't suffice. I'm using alternate methods to sync Outlook to the phone (which is becoming a rather arcane combination, most either use EAS, or sync to Google Apps or direct to Gmail). I posted details in another thread, if you get further frustration with the HTC app, post back here.

Gave up on HTC Sync, got it to work twice and then kept getting the device could not be detected error, even with all of the correct settings checked. Tried Companionlink, but found items didn't sync correctly. Finally tried My Phone Explorer -woohoo, success! Have been using for two weeks and it just works - Outlook contacts, calendar, memos and tasks! I am not on a server and coming from a BB, this was a very frustrating experience for me, but all good now.

I tried HTC, going to zap it, didn't sync everything. I've used Companionlink once on my Rezound so far and you can't use Wi-Fi sync with it but so far from what I can tell the usb sync worked great. But I'm going to have a look at My Phone Explorer now that I know it exists, thanks!

I ran a bunch of tests with Companionlink and found calendar and contact sync spotty to the point I just didn't trust it. Currently using the USB connection, but it has WIFI and Bluetooth options. Like that MPE lets you see each change before it is made. Doesn't have the support of CL, but I followed the How To and FAQ sticky on their website and the forum provides good feedback. Worth looking into. Also, it is free with option to donate!
