I cannot get HTC Sync to work. Have installed and re installed 3 times on my windows 7 computer. One time the HTC sync app started to down load my songs from the computer that came from my sd card while the phone was not plugged in. Then it stopped and the run time error popped up for the hundredth time. Then therev is the issue that the htc sync program cant even find my phone or tells me the device is locked. very frustrating! Any help is appreciated.

To tranfer pic and music to the one from my evo lte's sd card. The sync manager constantly crashes and says run time error

Can you just use drag and drop?

I use drag and drop to get stuff from my computer to the One. For music, I just put a folder in the Data directory called "Music" and copied what I needed. Pics should work the same way I think?

similar issue. but htc sync is not seeing that I have outlook on my comp. have uninstalled COMPLETLY and reinstalled.
same issue.

Yep, I called HTC. She said there is a conflict with itunes. I uninstalled itunes and everything related to apple on my pc, Re installed htc sync. Same f'ing thing! I give up....almost. If I have no way to transfer my music/pics to the phone I may return it. I guess I could install double twist? I hate it, but that may be a answer?

got everything transferred using microsoft stuff. Should have never bothered with sync.

I got HTC Sync to work but it was difficult. Its a pretty horrible piece of software. You would think with all the work HTC has done trying to become a major player they would've known to create a better Sync program.

I still don't understand the need for the sync software. I guess for people who don't understand how to move files in windows? But that isn't anyone posting on this board.

What more can it do for you?

I think people just want what is expected. They bought a phone that has this software. It should work. I had the same issue with sync failing and I did do drag and drop. But I just wanted my program to work the way it is meant to.

Yeah...I agree. Most 'users' are not accustom to file transfer, file types, where to locate them and where to move them to. Its not intuitive. You buy a product and expect it to work and function out of the box. I have the same issue with sync manager and although I am comfortable moving files across various platforms, its just plain easier to connect the phone and walk away. It should just function.

I had this same problem. Sure, HTC sync sucks donkey droppings but it does work. Remember to check (in settings) USB debugging. It has to be ON for it to work.

Download HTC easy transfer on old phone. Turn on bluetooth on both phones. Go into settings on new phone and hit transfer content and follow instruction. It will transfer pics and video and messages. Back up messages on old phone first.

Just because you don't understand or you don't know all the features it doesn't mean that other people don't want to use, let's say, sync with Outlook. It's the only way, in my opinion, to safely backup your phone. I know, you can backup on sd card, but what happens when you loose the phone? And don't tell me to use that POS google backup!!
