HTC Sync not working for me on XP

I cant seem to get my windows xp pc to recognize my evo in any form. Have installed the latest HTC Sync software and still no joy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

USB wire sync is so 1990's.

stick with OTA Gmail via the Cloud automagically.

I'm having the same problem with my pc sync. It worked fine several times and now hangs up everytime.

Please only respond if you have an actual solution, not a suggestion to place all my personal information on Gmail which I choose not to use.

Well that's not really the issue I'm having any ways. My issue is that my pc will not recognize my Evo whatsoever. I would like to transfer files such as movies from my pc to my Evo.
