HTC tells you why its better than SGS3

That's interesting. I just asked my 4 buddies here which looked better, my S3 or my One X. They all picked the One X almost immediately and they have no skin in the game, 2 of them have I phones.

Ok. So we can deduce from this that based on both of our differing experiences, none of these great screens is better, and preference is purly subjective.

Samsung pretty much throws whatever they can against a wall and hope something sticks.

Better than doing the same thing over and over again... And throwing something at the wall and hoping it sticks is what Google is all about buddy... It's called innovation that's what being creative is all about

Huh? OK let's make this one quick:

Objective Hardware Specs:

1. The S3 has more RAM
2. The S3 has a removable Battery
3. The S3 has a larger screen

Objective Software Specs:

1. The S3 has innovative gesture controls/actions
2. The S3 has S-Voice
3. The S3 has floating video player/thumbnail (live) video preview
4. The S3 has voice-activated phone unlock capability.

My subjective opinion is that I personally feel that the S3 is a beautiful device to the point that I would not want to put a case on it. I personally feel that the Samsung has taken more effort to place as many features (hardware/software) as possible into the S3. I personally feel that the S3 is more future proof (in theory) due to the extra 1GB of RAM. I think Samsung was innovative with the fact that they were able to keep the the removable battery aspect AND maintain a slim and attractive profile.

But as you can see, having a comparison of hardware/software features of a device using a simple Yes or No answer without going beyond the scope of the discussion is rare. For HTC a simple listing of features in table format and a check to indicate if their device does or does not have it, would have been good enough.

But I'm a liar on my way to a burning hell since according to you I prefer the HOX and I know deep down inside just like HTC that the S3 is the better device.

This was an honest respectable reply... And I honestly I think you get my point.... I would actually own the HOX.. I just believe the GS3 separates itself... Not to say the HOX isn't a wonderful phone.... It is!

Ok its a folder... Really? It's nothing new... All android phones have the function of making folders.. I could care less how each rom/skin does it.. It's there.. Until there is a real feature made aware that HOX has that none other has... And I mean a real feature not how it manages folders...this is all just silly...

I'm asking what has HTC put in the HOX that's new.. a game changer.. Not just redoing what ics has made available native.. That's not innovation that's tweaking...

All of this titt for tat instead of just saying nothing... So for me when I read about the HOX being better than the Gs3 I scratch my head and say how.... It's no chump but it's not better at all.. U get more from the GS3 period.. Now if you prefer the HOX hey... That's coo... I respect that... But it ain't better I know it you know it and so does HTC.. I rep HTC all day they are great but the truth is the truth... I hated Samsung until this phone..But they separated themselves from the pack its not just another android it offers far more..

Except when those features don't work or are incomplete. Every review of the S3 notes how poorly some of its added 'features' are implemented and how poorly thought out they are. Fact of the matter is that Samsung is not innovating; they're taking preexisting features android has, replicating them, and, by all accounts, making them worse. That is not innovation.

An objective benefit of the One X is a better display. A display with higher PPI, more accurate color reproduction and less spacing between subpixels is clearly better from a technical standpoint. There are also numerous mentions in this thread of software features on the One X that are not available on the S3.

While subjective, I also take some issue with the value of an extra gigabyte of ram when it has no effect on performance. It's similar to the difference of buying a computer with 16GB or one with 24GB.

The display argument is an easy one. The SLCD2 display of the HOX isn't handicapped during outdoor use. There is no need to cover the screen with your hand or seek the nearest a shaded area to see what you're doing.

Somebody may like their old pentium 1 laptop better than a new ultrabook. The ultrabook is still better from a technical standpoint. The S3 has a lower PPI, twice the space between subpixels and less accurate color reproduction. You may prefer your S3, but it's screen is technically inferior. This is simply a fact. However, I certainly agree that preference is purely subjective.

Haha so I guess android had picture in picture.. I guess android had smart stay.... I guess android had smart notification... The all work fine and dandy home boi.... This is just a few... Let's just say if you like the HOX because it fits you... Then fine... I'll give the HOX the screens battle but that's ittttt.... Don't knock Samsung for what HTC isn't doing ok... You like your HOX then fine.... Leave it at that

I'm done with this forum we can agree to disagree... Final words... HOX is a beast its screen is siiiick!!!! That does not discredit the GS3 screen or validate calling it subpar.... Samsung has done somethings that haven't been done and as an android fan we all should be happy because it's going to push HTC, apple and the rest to continue to be innovative
And top it... And (other than apple) when they due ill surely buy it...... Take care

Guys, it's a phone. Relax. Who cares what someone else says about the phone? If you like yours, good. That's the point.

Well if the screen being the best in the industry is what you base you purchase on then... More power to you... I'll take a my features on the GS3 and somehow manage with this "subpar"Screen.... Lol.. Smh...

Sent from my GS3....with a Subpar screen.. Lmao

Ok, bro. We get your point you love your features on your s3. Just like HOX users love their screens. There's nothing wrong with one person believing they have the best phone (for them, on paper, or side by side). Besides, it's just a phone. The way you defend your s3 you would think it's your girl...

Besides, isn't this an HTC One X forum? Lol

Man, I can't believe how much this thread has spiraled out of control. This has gone from "Lol, look what HTC handed out" to "MY PHONE IS BETTER! MINE MINE MINE!" Seriously, everyone, the greatest thing about Android is the choices we are given. Just because someone likes their phone better than they like your phone doesn't mean the world is going to end. It means that Android has reached one of its end goals to provide us with a choice in today's smartphone market.

Did you read the above post or what... Smh..

Ok.... I'm Smh and Lmao... To all the would be peace makers... No one needs to chill.. I mean it's a healthy debate.. No one is upset believe me.. I like phone discussions.... This just shows you human nature loves negativity... I made many positive statements about the HOX and Google.. I gave the credit when a point was made... no one was personally attacked... And it was a post about both phones, if my eyes aren't going bad.... Let's not over react I was just looking for some validity to the title of this post... it's ok to not agree right?
At the end I actually learned more about the HOX then when started and that's what I was looking for....a Why? I disagree but respect the argument....
So you chill...I'm a grown person who can respect the opinions of others and challenge them without getting hostile... I think that's what happened here
.... Oooh I know what happened I forgot the smiley face..... Gotcha ;-)...... Lmao

Here's an article from last night, from the front page of Google news that shows pretty much what an average non-nerd (99% of buyers) thinks of both phones. Beyond that, I personally am done with this, I think. The arguments are so repetitive and for the most part nobody is looking to have an objective discussion here, they just want to have a pissing match and try to bludgeon other people into thinking their device is the best, simply because it's the one they own.

I feel you man... But that ain't me... I've sent people to buy wp7phones cause it fit them and they come back saying Oooh I love it ... I've had people ask me to help them phone shop and they left with an iphone after understanding their needs and use type.... I've worked for Verizon so I know every phone I like isn't for everyone.. I flip phones all of the time and if one is better(for me) ..... I grab it

But if someone makes a statement that something is better or something sucks people should be able to provide an educated answer as to how or why... Other than it makes me feel good cause mine does too ya feel me..... Lol.. & After personal preferences all we have is facts... Period...

It's all good.... HOX provides a wonderful experience....if you own it you should love it there isn't many reasons not too...I'd own one too.. wish it was on Vzw I'd trade it for my Nexus for my biz line

Awesome, so let's let this thread die (for the second time, somebody necromanced it this time) and agree that neither phone is better, it's simply a matter of what you prefer. In my opinion they're both great phones. I prefer my One X over my S3, but that's just me and everyone has different preferences.
