It's part of lte nothing special that HTC is doing all lte phoned will do voice and data if your on call and in 4g
dooooooo want. were is the info on the bionic doing simultaneous voice data...when i search it it only shows were htc an verizon teamed up to make this possible on the thunderbolt

im gonna share this here an share with the original post. but the htcsense.com will not be work with this phone at launch.

Dear jordan,

Very good question, Jordan. I would be more than happy to provide you with a little more insight.

At this point in time, HTCSense is still undergoing further development and testing. We've run into major problems that will probably not be fixed before the Thunderbolt is released; this is why only two phones, thus far, have the necessary version of HTC Sense to work with the site. We feel that the site is not stable enough to handle the additional traffic. Due to this, the Thunderbolt most likely will not initially be able to interface with HTCSense.com -- Once the site is a little more stable and able to handle more traffic, and once we've worked the bugs out of it, we'll be looking to expand the list of phones that will work with the site. As the Thunderbolt is going to be among the first of Verizon's 4G phones, I can only guess that this phone eventually would be made compatible -- however, this is something that is left up to Verizon. We would be more than happy to forward this suggestion to the people at Verizon, so that they know that people looking forward to the Thunderbolt would like to be able to use HTCSync.com. :)

Thank you for taking the time to contact us

Your missing the key word, 3G. It can do simultaneous voice/data over 3G. It is the only Verizon phone that offers that capability. Pretty big feature especially while the 4G network is built out.

however, two negatives for me:
In my opinion, the "kickstand" is a cheesy gimmick that will loosen up, flop open and closed, snag when I'm trying to put it into/pull out of my back pocket, etc.

The SIM card. yuck.

thoughts?

Duh really still nothing new on.HTC part you cab surf and talk on 3g cdma VZW just never got around to doing it. Like I said this will be on the bionic and any new phone that has the new cdma chip in.it. thunderchicken is already out classed by LG , MOTO, and Samsung. Unless u buy on one year contract or buy out right you'll be on a 2010model phone with some minor 2011tweeks.

Well you need the sim card for lte just POP it in and forget about it. As for kickstand ask evo owners how there's are holding out since this is its evil twin.

This phone looks like a monster, Definitely think I will wait instead of getting the Incredible today.

That Video is very convincing. I like Sense, The video calling looks cool. I need to find some people who use Skype!

My only concern would be battery life, and what I heard about issues making phone calls.

there is a very distinct possibility this will not be the case with the bionic. it is not a big red button at verizon that they just decided to push to activate this feature. it is based on the chipset the devices are you using. we all know the TBOLT and Bionic use distinctly different hardware. not to mention it has not even been hinted that the bionic will have this. as for being outclassed, you understand that most people here looking at TBOLT are VZW customers, on VZW it is a top tier phone and has only been OUTSPECCED by the Bionic. what makes the single core LG and samsung offerings better than the TBOLT. HTC builds a better device than samsung and the LG is unproven. You are obviously a spec kind of guy, we all know speccs dont always give the whole truth. there are cars with less specs that will outperform better specced cars due to specs you dont bother looking at, like overall weight, front rear weight distribution, horsepower to weight ratio, etc. not to mention the thing i have realized is there is nothing in the next year that 99% of users will benefit from by having a dual core. your quadrant score might be higher, who gives a ****? is your gmail going to open twice as fast? other than hardcore gaming (which is just funny to even type, much less do) the average user will not benefit. anyway, i think i will take the superiorely skinned, designed, built TBOLT for now.

I've seen previews of the kickstand via video and nothing about them makes me think it is A)cheesy/cheaply made and B)going to interfere with your using the phone.

Its not some free flapping design, it takes a bit of oomph to pull it out and put it back into place and because of how it fits in, you're almost going to have to try to pop it open while removing it from your pocket in order to make that scenario you described possible.

I wouldn't worry about the kickstand.

forgive my basic questions, I've never used a sim card. Why is one needed for LTE? Are they just purchased like a micro sd card? What function do they serve that isn't needed on 3G or anything else?

thanks for the help~
