I don't know where you are, but then Sprint really botched the release if you had that many, yet stores in NY weren't getting many.

I second that. I stood there and watched on release day, the General Manager of the Radio Shack I purchased my phone from, get chastised by the District Manager for going over their release day limit of 1 phone per customer, causing a shortage for people who had reserved. I even remember Sprint's network shutting in and out because it was buckling under the pressure of so many new activations in the same day.

You are correct about this. Sprint actually fired the guy who went public with the mistake after realizing the mistake in the numbers that Sprint reported at first. At first, it seemed as though the Evo has sold ASTOUNDINGLY WELL, but Sprint acknowledged the error in their calculations and as it turns out, the phone just sold extremely well for a first day launch Sprint device.

The phone will be great and a great deal of people will have the phone in a case anyways. Crazy when we stop worrying about the technology in a phone and worry how it looks. Oh well, to each their own. I know my phone will be in a case nice and secure.

Baltimore, maryland if that says anything...
