Huawei p20 life camera just has black screen!

My camera suddenly started showing a black screen in stead of taking pictures. The app opens, then closes and opens again by itself!I tried a 3rd party camera app and still the same so I bought a new camera and fitted but still the same.i guess it is something more serious!

Welcome to Android Central! Does this also happen in Safe Mode? https://www.hardreset.info/devices/huawei/huawei-p20-lite-2019/safe-mode/. If so, then the camera hardware has likely failed. Is the phone still under warranty?

Hi, thanks for feedback. No better in safe mode and no not under warranty so a bit stuck. It did suffer water damage some time ago but it did not seem to bother it but maybe that is the cause? By y
The way, I have registered but am trying to find my way around the forum at the moment.

Ok, I made you the owner of the original guest post to make it easier for you to find.

Unfortunately, you'll probably have to bring it to a repair shop. Water damage doesn't always manifest immediately -- it might take a little while for corrosion to set in.
