I am returning my HTC One (M8). Are you?

No, I'm saying that my 4mp digital camera was bought on 2003, that's what I mean, and I'm very sure of the picture quality of that as I still have it, and no, it can't compare with my 12MP that I bought 3 years ago.

I'm not here to debate, you buy what you want and that's that, I'll buy what I want, nothing else to say, none of you can tell me what my eyes what my eyes appreciate as good or better than something else, so again, and to end this, you buy what you want, and most of you have already bought it, I haven't so I still can decide and as of now, it has been removed of my options. Good luck to you all.

It's a good thing you aren't here to debate because you would lose. Badly. Tell me, do you think everything is the same on your 2003 and 2011 cameras except the number of pixels on the sensor? Just curious.

It may have lost in picture detail but they choose the m8 camera over n5

No they chose the one for camera software, which I agree with as well. Please note Alex said the one will not hold up against the S5

Neither of these phones is a really great all-round camera that'll match the latest from Samsung and Sony. As was the case last year, HTC more is focused on Ultrapixels, Zoes, Duo shots and other features more than megapixels. Meanwhile the Nexus 5 offers good photos, but not for the impatient, or those wanting to shoot fast-moving subjects.

For the average user, the more versatile HTC One, with its added bells and whistles, is probably the better option. But the choice here is do you want a fast camera that sometimes falls down on image quality, or a slower shooter with the potential to capture more fine detail.

Huh? If competitive phones can do better in auto mode and the HTC requires tweaking that you admit most people won't do then certainly HTC can be blamed.

Doing better in auto mode doesn't mean the camera is bad, it means that the software optimization isn't as good. This camera has the ability to take really good shots, you just have to set up the camera properly.

The same can be said about a lot of cameras, phone or otherwise. Can a lot of cameras take good photos right out of the box? Sure but if you set it up properly your images will vastly improve.

Don't get me wrong they could have improved on the camera in a lot of ways, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good camera. Every phone's camera can be improved upon, does that mean they are all bad?

Right, if bells and whistles with poor image quality is your thing go for the One. If you want it all in one package wait for the s5

I can't disagree with anything you said in this post.

It says for the average user the m8 camera is a better choice, exactly what we were talkin about. Users who just want to point and shoot

Finally! We agree on something! Lol, I really am trying not to come across as argumentative. I just think people don't give enough credit where credit is due. The camera is more than capable, it just comes down to the end user

Based on what I've read from you, I don't think image quality means what you think it does.

Mate, it means the same to me as it does to a dozen or so reviews I've read including two on this very site. They're all consistent. Cheers.

You ARE argumentative but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Heck,I get paid well to be argumentative.

Nope.. it comes across as a company that has had an operating loss in profit only ONCE. Your statement was false as I've proven.

Do you seriously think HTC isn't in trouble? Are you kidding me????

16mp but what's 12 mp among friends?

I will continue to say it and you will consider to show you don't know what you're talking about. There are many variables that go into how good camera system performs and "mega pixels" is probably the least important. Period.

Please keep things civil.
