That sucks. Sounds like they're really clamping down on that now. They keep telling me that they're not allowed to do it anymore too. I actually called again this morning and spoke to a nice woman. She said I'll be eligible for an early upgrade on April 29th with the stipulation that I would lose the $30 NE2 discount and would be charged a $20 early upgrade fee. So, one-year contract price of $320 + $20 early upgrade fee = $340. Not great, but not too bad. I will likely do that, as it's better than waiting until July. Only a month and a half to go.... :-\

my upgrade is not until aug sometime but it let me order it online yesterday, I paid $241ish for the phone, ext battery and overnight shipping.

You are probably getting the annual upgrade, which comes 10 months into a contract. That is what I am up for on 3/24, as my regular NE2 upgrade date on My Verizon isn't until 11/24.

they will probably tell you that you need to pay full retail, hey its worth a try, maybe say you lost it and you want to drop the data plan off your line if you cant upgrade early, maybe they will let you upgrade so they dont loose money......

Well, they at least updated the My Verizon thing on my account online to say eligible on 3/24/2011 instead of the 11/24/2011 it was at before.

Nothing. I mean, that was the date for my annual upgrade or whatever it is from the get go, that I've been trying to get bumped up a week early... but for some reason it wasn't showing up in their system.

When I previously called or went in-store these past few days it always took them a few minutes to see it in the notes on my account, because all My Verizon was showing was my NE2 upgrade which was in November.

So when I called yesterday, the girl on the other end said she would update My Verizon for me so at least when next Thursday comes I don't have any problems.

I am eligible for NE2 April 16, less then a month, and have tried to go in for 1yr contract to 2 different stores, and also called like 3 times. No one would do anything. :-( I am always nice. Well, last store I was at I got frustrated with them and left before I said something inappropriate.

Oh well... Maybe I will try again maybe not. I am losing the energy to try and explain the same thing over and over to so many different people...

You are getting frustrated I understand but saying something inappropriate is childish, Verizon is giving u that ne2 credit 4 months before your contract is over. Just be happy you don't have to complete your contract before you can upgrade. And FYI you won't get a ne2 credit if you only sign a one year contract.
