I bought a used(Mint) Factory unlocked Galaxy Note 9 (N960U1).
It looks like a almost new.
There is a photo by 12/31/2017.
But, Galaxy Note 9 released on August 24, 2018.
How can it took a picture 8 months before release.
What happened to this phone?

Model Number is SM-N960UZPAXAA
It's working good for Verizonwireless.
I registered it in Samsung website without any problem.
It has a factory warranty until November 24, 2019.

I'm just curious it.

Looks like you have a carrier unlocked phone not Samsung unlocked.

It said,
"We have good news.
This phone has key features that typically provide a great experience on the T-Mobile network.

So, It's not a carrier unlocked phone.

Yes a carrier unlocked phone will work great any carrier you choose , let me ask you something if you put a T-Mobile SIM does the phone booth up with T-Mobile splash screen?

You have a carrier unlocked phone , if it was unlocked non carrier it would load up SAMSUNG logo and then lock screen regardless carrier sim.

It also may be a phone that was purchased, someone copied an old picture to it (probably among other things), deleted everything - but forgot to delete that picture - and returned it within the 14 day exchange period. (And whoever sold it (Verizon?) put it back into stock instead of returning it up the chain.

It's just that date was set wrong by the previous purchaser and that's y it's displays different date of pic taken... Nothing to worry

Previous owner simply synced to an older account with that metadata . Then forgot to delete, or do a full wipe. Who knows what else, including a key logger could have been installed. Heck, opening that pic could launch a worm. I'd reset that phone without restore and delete that pic first.

Exactly what happened. Many people do a hard reset and resell a phone, return it or give it out. However they forget that there's an account with Google and/or Samsung that needs to be closed. That photo was stored in the cloud under such an account.

But if u see the pic and details mention it's clearly shows note 9 model number and aperture 2.4 which only note 9 has and not note 8...its just date was set wrong during purchase

The date, tbh, is immaterial. It's a used phone. It has a file which has been opened by the OP that is from the previous owner. It should not have been there.
My advice remains the same, irregardless of the metadata.
