Bought two pixel 3s 64GB for the price of one through Verizon deal. Replacing my Galaxy S8 and sons Moto Z play.
It's only a $100 difference, $899 or $999 both are high so not big difference in price for me personally. I gladly pay $100 more for bigger screen and battery.
Exactly.... though it may impact some people I would decide based on which one I prefer and ignore the price. If you keep it two years that's about 4 dollars a month extra
I'll wait for a week or 2 until reviews start coming in. I just wanna make sure the pixel 3 XL is not plagued by anything like bad display on the pixel 2 XL. Just playing it safe.
well.... after the visit to best but to check out the devices = Pixel3 order is canceled and 3XL is ordered.

What made you change to the 3XL? Notch not a big deal in person?
The display on the Pixel 3/3XL is supposed a lot better which is great because the Pixel 2 XL screen was terrible. I wouldn't be surprised if Google are using Samsung's displays for the Pixel 3/3XL.
I'll probably grab the Pixel 3 regular. No way I'm getting the 3 XL with that notch, and their 'hide' feature is so ridiculous and makes no sense, I can't even fathom what they're thinking.

upgrading from Pixel XL (OG)
That is fantastic news! Very happy you made the right choice.I spent an hour at the Verizon store this afternoon comparing my Pixel 2 XL with the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL.
I'm now totally satisfied that I made the right choice getting two Pixel 3 XL's for my wife and myself.
When holding my 2 XL and the 3 XL on exactly the same plane and then tilting from side-to-side, the blue shift on the 2 XL was quite noticeable and there was no color shift on the 3 XL. I compared using the first settings screen where there is a lot of white. (Although in actual use the shift on the 2 XL was never really a problem for me and I never thought about it.)
The whiteness, color vibrancy and brightness of the 3 XL was quite noticeably superior in a side-by-side comparison on the same images with my 2 XL. Both 2 XL and 3 XL were set to 100% brightness.
The notch is of no consequence whatsoever. YouTube videos didn't protrude into the notch. The kicker was when I read on DXO that you can go in to "Developer Mode" on the 3 XL and then you will have a new option to eliminate the notch. DXO showed a comparative photo side-by-side with the 2 XL and the option totally makes the screen in to a 2 XL screen, even to the rounded top and bottom corners. I'm satisfied that if I do end up being bothered by the notch that I can totally eliminate it with the new Developer Mode option.
Bottom line was that my visit to Verizon this afternoon totally eliminated any concerns I had about ordering the 3 XL. I'm now very much looking forward to delivery day!
