Where do you see that at? I ordered right away during the live event and didn't get the option for preferred care, I contacted them to add it later and they said you can only get it at the time of purchase, which now pushed my ship date back a week for XL 128GB White.

When I placed my order there was a banner to add premium care for $7 a month and the statement about 30 days. I go to the page now and it is showing a ~$129 flat fee.

Maybe the Premium Care I saw is only for Google Fi. I went into my account and it states that it is $7 a month and it can be made retroactive to device shipping date for a 1 time prorated charge.

I bought the black 128 XL from Verizon's website. I have the OG pixel XL and passed on the pixel 2 last year. Glad I waited because I have a beautiful wireless charging stand on my desk at work that has been waiting 2 years to be used again.

I got two stands that I haven't used in about 2 years

Wireless charging, IP68 vs IP67, greatly improved camera over what was already arguably the best camera in the business, better display, smaller bezels, free YouTube Music for 6 months ($72 value right there), an additional year of OS updates (because it's newer), newer and better SoC, HDR support, etc, etc. Also, prices of components still going up, which isn't a value add to us, but it's still a thing that exists.

Google's website lists the IP rating as IPX8.

And I have a perfect condition Pixel 2 XL 128 that I'm trading in and should get the max $550 for.
That makes my wife's new Pixel 3 XL 128 essentially FREE!
