Well, I finally made the jump after 3 years of being a faithful BlackBerry fanboy. I still hold much love for RIM, but they just are not getting the job done. I miss my Bold 9650 terribly, but I welcome the new HTC Rezound for everything my new device can do that my BlackBerry couldn't come close to doing...or at least doing well.

For 2 years my friends have mocked me for having a mobile device that can't even browse the web. Let's face it folks, the BlackBerry is abysmal at web browsing. It's nice to actually have a selection of apps to choose from. I'm NOT a big app geek, but if there are a dozen apps that I think could add to my productivity or entertainment, I'm going to take advantage of them. On my BlackBerry, there were perhaps 5 apps that I couldn't live without. I've already gote them installed on my Rezound and I've added about 3 or 4 new apps that I never could have put on my BlackBerry...like ConnectBot and AndChat. Sure, there are a couple of ssh apps for BlackBerry, but they don't work like they do on my Rezound.

I miss my physical keyboard tremendously and I always will. Yet, I am astonished at how fast I'm already typing on the Rezound. This is the only touchscreen device I've ever typed on, besides goofing on an instore iPhone once or twice.

I'm thrilled to become part of the Android community and I look forward to learning all about this wonderful OS. I've read Android Central blogs for the last year or so, because all of my friends (save for maybe 3 or 4) have already made the move off of BlackBerry. Now, I get to get involved in the Android Central forums. :-)
