Thank you, i was wondering about getting another charger, are those voltages for the UK too?

The charger that came with the phone is 1.00 a/h 5V
There is lots of information about problems like this about changing all over the forums.
There is one that mentions the sensors needing bright illumination before it will change properly.
Sounds like you're nearly there, good luck, hope you find an answer.

Yes i think i'm slowly getting there thank to everyone's help, i'm certainly learning a lot.

Voltage used to be 5V but the electroic stream has 1A and 2A and many chargers specified with 2A do not output real 2A, so you should look for a original charger like the ipad1 use.I had this problem before.

I still find it crazy that HTC would tell you it would be a month to repair. I'm currently boxing mine up to send in to have the headphone jack repaired and they told me it would be 7-10 days.

I have only had my HTC One 29 days and its had to go back for repair, i was one day over the exchange period, it wont charge using my supplied cable and charger and wouldn't charge in the store with generic cables, however it did charge on the Geek Squad's equipment, i'm really upset, don't know how long it will be, they said up to 28 days :(

Did you buy the phone in a shop? I'm in the UK and I'm not sure I understand why the phone can't be replaced in store? Under our consumer protection rights it should be of "merchantable quality" and covered for a year. I don't understand why 30 days makes a difference to this?

If you bought the phone in a store, I would go back to them and give them a bit of stick...

I was told that it could be 14 days but be prepared for it to be a month, i'm just so glad i got it sorted out, at the moment it seems ok (fingers crossed) This is the thing i don't like with Android phones, with Apple you just get another phone, no messing about, are you in UK?

Yes i bought it at Carphone Warehouse, after 28 days you only get a repair, i had a real go at them as it was 29 days but got nowhere....it stinks!...for members living in the UK be very careful where you buy your phone, they won't budge an inch....it's store policy and that's it they say!

Another thing that has really annoyed me, they have "Experts" in this store to solve your phone problems, Experts my ****, it took members in this great forum to solve my problem, all they wanted to do was send it in for repair, the "Expert" did no more than put it on charge!

If you still want to pursue a replacement, have a look on the Citizens Advise Bureau website here (Citizens Advice - Faulty goods - if you want a repair or a replacement)

about time limitations on replacements (or give them a call). I think there is something that says if you can't survive without the item because it takes too long to sort out, I think you can have a refund...

Otherwise, you could try Twitter to see if that gets them to speed up a bit?

Lastly, you could try HTC directly and see what they say about the speed of repair?

Thank you for the information, i think it's sorted now though, since i did restore to Factory settings it seems to ok so far, i will be able to tell better as battery runs down and i have to charge it again :)

Sounds like a cable issue. Have you tried other micro USB cables? I have a ton of HTC cables laying around that work on my phone. Even my old Samsung cables work + the Palm Pre cables.

Thanks, I seem to have sorted it out now with the restore to factory settings, i'm just now trying a second charge to see if it stays on, so far so good....having said that i do need another cable to keep in the car.

Just know it is a software glitch. Others have posted about it a few months back if I remember right. A hard reset does indeed fix it! Hope everything goes well and keep us posted!

Ah right, thanks for that, i had wondered if it was a corrupted bit of software from an app or something, i have been careful to install only recommended apps, if you happen to come across the posts about it i would appreciate a link, i will update on how it's going :)

Its sort of a confusing thread but it looks like hard resets and playing with certain settings will fix it. Glad you got it working! I have had no person experience with the problem but I remember the problem happening to a lot of people with Jelly Bean 4.1.2. Hope this helps! It may not but its worth passing the information along right?
