I can't get out of Download Mode

i had been updating my htc evo to the newest version but accidently battery was removed. i tried to turn the phone back on and it is being recognized by PC but LCD is black. i figured out that phone is in download mode. how can i upgrade rom again or how can i come out the phone from download mode??

I am having the same problem with my HTC Vivid right now. But I wasn't updating the phone, it just died and when I tried to charge it, it went into emergency download mode.
