I can't receive texts from iphone users until I send them one first

I have had problems receiving a text from a new number, specifically iphone users. It never comes through, but once I text them we can communicate without any problems. I have a Galaxy S6 active and am running Chomp SMS as a 3rd party texting app. This just started happening to my knowledge around 2 months ago. Thanks in advance for the help!

It would seem that the new iPhone user has you wrongly in their contacts as an iMessage user with the correction getting made when you send them an SMS message.

If your phone number was ever associated with an iPhone, you may need to unregister that number with the iMessage service.
