Android Central Question

I have android 9.0, I was on instagram and clicked on a link that could've contained malware. I clicked on the link and exited, not entering anything information or downloading anything. I found out and reset my phone a day after. Could the hacker already have downloaded all my photos/data from texts and personal information from my phone? I already changed my password for all my accounts but I'm scared of my photos/personal information being leaked or seen by a hacker.

Hi there. Hopefully the link didn't have malware but it is best to be careful about clicking on links you don't know or trust.

Hopefully if you didn't enter any information you should be ok. It is good that you have changed your passwords. That always helps. Keep an eye out for any strange emails. Download and run malwarebytes from the Play Store.

Welcome to Android Central! Just tapping a link is extremely unlikely to expose you to malware. You'd usually have to go on and agree to install some malicious app, which then does the damage. I think you're ok with the precautions you took already, and Kirstein Gourlay's additional recommendations is all you need to do at this point.
