I could not be more disappointed at Note 8 now that it has been unveiled.

I could not be more disappointed, the Note 8 is nothing more than a barely upgraded S8. I knew it would be similar but I did not know it would be THIS similar! I am shocked that Samsung did not do something revolutionary or something that would truly put it in a category all by itself. The S Pen is definitely not enough. This was supposed to be the phone to make us all forget about the Note 7, but all it has done to me is reminded me of the S8+. Who is Samsung fooling? Surely not me or any other educated phone lovers. I've been waiting to upgrade from my Note 5 but now I think I will stick with it. I almost contemplated getting the S8+ after the big unveiling today but I think that phone too is subpar. I think I'll hold out for another year. Shame on you Samsung you're fooling no one!

I had a Note 5 from December 2015 until a month ago. The S8+ is markedly better in everyway, but specifically with battery life. I went from 3 hours of screen on time to 6+ hours (depending on my usage that day). I wouldn't go back to the Note 5 if you paid me.

Ouch. My Note 5 gets around 4.5 hours of screen on time, depending on how long it is on standby. Standby is the real drain on my battery.

Note 5 and S6 Edge were the same phone, one had the edge the other the pen.

Note 7 was an S7 edge with slightly larger display and a pen.

Note 8 is a slightly bigger S8 plus with pen and dual camera, just as leaks suggested.

What did you expect?

One thing is A LOT more change with the software/ s pen. Better design etc etc etc (keep going?)

Well I suppose it's not for everyone. We all have expectations and what we want to see is a new device.

I really liked what I saw in the Unpacked event and really am looking forward to the hands on in a best buy store to see it in person and compare it that way with my S8+

Oh wow, you must have not been watching the same unveiling! Samsung isn't fooling anyone. I think that a lot of people are still mad about the Note 7, I was too and I still miss it but it's water under the bridge but I have the S8+ and I will be getting the Note 8. Unless you have the S8+ you won't even know the comparison between the 2 so maybe you should stick with your Note 5. It is still a good phone but Samsung isn't trying to fool you or any other person still stewing over the Note 7. It is far from being a barely upgraded S8. It is bigger than the S+, not much but it is bigger and even though I would love to see a replica of the Note 7 come back to life I will gladly give the Note 8 a try before I start complaining.

Me too amyf27!!! Since we are already S8+ owners we have nothing to lose. I think it will be a step up even though some think nothing changed but I wonder how many people realized that the Note series design from the Note 2( first one I had) to the Note 7 didn't change much at all so I just wonder what all these disappointed people thought of the Notes all these years before? I am excited to say the least and as I said before I have nothing to lose, I'm gaining as far as I am concerned, my 8+ doesn't have a pen or a 2nd camera on the back!!

The last true Note was the Note 4. Everything else has been garbage, and just a rehash of the Galaxy S line up plus S-pen. there was a time when buying the Note was a thing of pride, a phone apart from the rest.

Think they are banging all their bucks on the dual cam, hopefully it's really that impressive when all the reviews are out.

Other than this, really nothing else worth mentioning in the event, except they kept "bootlicking" Note users are a unique bunch who will buy any Note device they come out with :D

I would have wanted to see Under glass FPS, stereo speakers, Quad DAC... At the very least they could have moved the FPS to a better spot if they couldn't do any of the above.

Otherwise, I felt the unveiling was fine... basically everything that's been pretty much known and the positive was that for S-Pen feature the price was around $950 which is where I expected it... $100 over the S8+.

Everyone shouldn't be surprised that the Note 8 is basically an S8++ and future models will most likely be ++ too.

What would you have wanted to see in the Note 8?

I was also disappointed, but I'll still get the phone. I would've loved a different location for the FPS. I would've also appreciated a larger battery. But I'll still enjoy the phone. I'm looking forward to having a Note device again.

Samsung did not fool me when it sent out the same phones it was recalling. Hello! Is there anyone out there!? Sent out replacement phones that were manufactured before the first recall? It was so obvious what was going to take place.

That said, I am still getting the Note 8 and giving Samsung a chance to prove itself. If this phone is a flop, you all can say to me, "Hello, is there anyone out there!?"

That's clearly opinion and not fact. I have a Note 4 still and besides the keyboard accuracy, I think quite the opposite. To each his own.

A phone apart from the rest? Thing of pride? LMAO
