I could not be more disappointed at Note 8 now that it has been unveiled.

If you don't care about an SPen then you didn't need a Note in the first place. Stop comparing it to the s8 plus.

I mean, it's still a better phone than the S8+, with or without the pen. So even those who don't care much about the pen are probably still interested. Or am I missing something?

Bingo!! I didn't use the pen a whole lot when I had note 4 but its nice to have when you need it!! Looking forward to the extra 2 gb of ram think it will make a difference!!

The fact that people are expecting it to be worlds better than the S series of the same generation is just something I find unreasonable.

As far as I can remember, it always been the Note being a mild refresh of the S line with an SPen and bigger size.

Nah... Didn't they use to use the Note series to bring out the latest specs before the rest? I could have sworn it would get the new processors before all their other models. Now it's different where the S series shows off the latest specs and the Note last year and this year gets the carry over (with the exception of the new cameras and memory but the S8 should have gotten it this year if it weren't for the FPS)

More RAM and better camera not enough for you?

Read what I am replying to... chanchan05 commented he thought the Notes were just mild refreshes of the S lines so people shouldnt have expected so much from this years Note.

My response was to say that I believe the Notes in past was the model used to bring out the latest specs before all other models... in true flagship style until recently with the Note 7 and Note 8.

Ok, then you're both wrong.

Description
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is the fourth instalment in the Note phablet series. It brings a much sharper, 5.7-inch 1440 x 2560-pixel (Quad HD) display, a powerful Exynos 5433 8-core system chip running at up to 1.9GHz, 3GB of RAM and a plentiful 32GB of internal storage in the basic model. The Note 4 is also the first in the Note series to get optical image stabilization for its main camera. In the Note 4, there is a 16-megapixel cam and a 3.7-megapixel front shooter for more detailed selfies.

Description
With a 5.1" 1080p screen, 16 MP camera and 2 GB of RAM, the Galaxy S5 might not be the utmost specs beast that the Android world has to offer, but it comes with plenty of new features, both in comparison with its predecessor, the S4, and when measured up to the other flagships. The heart beat sensor, for instance, is unique for the Galaxy S5, while something like the Finger Scanner can also be observed on the iPhone 5s, but in a rather different implementation. Samsung also introduced two new launch colors, including Copper Gold, and a brand new perforated design for the rear cover. The addition of Snapdragon 801 chipset brings on LTE-A download speeds, and 4K video recording, to an already superb handset.

Ok, then you're both wrong.

Seriously, does it matter? You like the Note get it. You like the S8 get that. One is not 'better' than the other. Different devices for different needs end of story. These endless debates about what phone is more better get nauseating lol

agreed. I just want to see someone, anyone, get their new N8 so we have something else to read. :P

eta - and cool pics

I lift things up and and I put them down... Lol. Naysayers sayers, on either side, there's a special forum just for you. S8 and Note 8. Can't we all just get along? At the end of the day, I rely on my own decisions of what to buy. Please do not belittle others for their own choices, I won't. (except Apple)

You're right, but these are the people every year who complain that it's not much better than the S series from 5 months ago. For those of us who buy the Note because it's a Note, don't really care if it's basically an S series but with the pen. Because the pen IS the difference.

Yeah I wasn't happy with the G6 either. Boring, Laggy software and camera glass prone to horrible scratches. Returned mine for an S8+.
