Ok, so my phone failed to update a few times with the OTA today...i figured the best thing to do was to flash the .sbf file and try again...apparently that was a HUGE mistake and my phone now reads:

Bootloader
30.03
Err:A5,70,70,00,1F

MEM_MAP Blank
Service Req'd
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable

can anyone help me out? i desperately need the phone working again :(

it said that it failed to install, so i figured i better sbf to stock and then try again...so i don't know what the heck happened, but when i sbf'd that's what happened...i'm pretty sure i'm screwed, but i was hoping there maybe some hope

thanks for the link...looks like i'm in the same boat as a number of others...

if a MOD see's this, feel free to delete

So, just to be crystal clear, you tried the ota, it said "failed to install", and then you flashed sbf...right? As in, it updated your bootloader but not your os version, then when you flashed, it bricked?
Is this correct?

Damn. I'm getting two different outcomes from flashing sbf from two people with about the same problem as me.
At least it's still alive, but I have got to figure out what's wrong, at this point I am looking st being stuck with my factory reset 2.1 for quite a while...

To be safe, don't do it (try to use the sbf to go backwards from 2.2 OTA)...have some patience. Better to be on 2.1 and have a phone that is usable, than to have one that is DOA.

In time, there may be a way to do all this, but all of us must wait this out...and see how this plays out.

I'm sitting on 2.1 still...and happy about it. I actually don't want to upgrade to 2.2 after hearing all the issues with it. I have a completely working phone right now, with NO issues...there just isn't a compelling reason to upgrade.

Okay, I figured out the answer to MY particular problem. Posted in my "havent totally screwed up yet" thread
