Yes, but assuming that it has been less than a year since you got your Bolt on contract, why would they give you the Resound at that price?

Now, they have *supposedly* changed this policy, but I know that in the past as long as I was:
1. At least 1 year into a device
2. Willing to extend my contract another 2 years
They would give me the 2 year contract price on pretty much any new phone I asked for. Granted, I was not getting a NE2 discount, but I was at least not paying retail either. I always had success this way by calling the 800 number (not going to the store). I would never even mention the words "early upgrade" or anything like that, I'd just call ask what they could do for me if I wanted to buy [device X]...and they would always say, "well you're not due for an upgrade yet, but if you would be willing to renew your contract, I could authorize the device at the 2-year contract price" ... and the call would proceed from there.
Granted, NO one has had the Thunderbolt for year, although we're getting close, but I imagine that there were enough complaints and returns on this device early on that CS reps
are authorized to allow folks to transfer devices early if desired. (or maybe not...what do I know?!?!?)
To the OP or anyone else that has switched devices already (at discounted prices), did you have to renew your contract, and more importantly if so, we're you able to keep your unlimited data plan? One thing that scares me is that even though I'm "grandfathered" into unlimited, they will eventually say that a certain device no longer supports the plan or that I can't switch devices without getting a new tiered plan, etc...
