I don't like that Gallery photos pop up an option to delete.

I'm still getting used to this new phone, and one thing I don't like is that when I call up a photo in Gallery it is quickly covered with a big white box offering the option to delete the photo. I can't hand the phone to naive users or children for fear I will lose what I want to keep.

On my old phone I had to poke around quite a bit to get the phone to even show me the delete option, which was fine with me.

Is there a setting to disable the easy access to delete? Or, do y'all recommend a Gallery alternative that accomplishes this among its other advantages?

Make sure they're backed up in Google Photos. It has a very nice integration with the OS. So if a picture is deleted locally, from Gallery, it'll still be available in Google Photos.

Thanks, that is a start, but I'd like for the message box to not pop up. At the very least it is a distraction.

Just tap on the screen before handing it to someone, and the bars will go away

...then they scroll to a new photo and there it is again. I guess the answer is to use another gallery app. Any suggestions on one that functions as I have wanted this one to?
