I don't use Hangouts, am I missing anything?

I've had it disabled for a few devices now... Somewhat recently Google said everything would through it...

Am I missing out on any good user experiences?

I just use stock messaging and nova for my launcher..

Stock sprint device(m7)... And I have the sense 6 update installed as well

I like Hangouts. It's easy to use, and it's nicely integrated with other apps. I also like the emojis that come with it.

It's all personal preference. I never use it. I have it disabled. I use Handcent. There aren't any customizable features for hangouts. To me, that is a major problem. I can customize every feature of Handcent. That's why I use it. No message application sends messages better than any other. Just my point of view.

Nothing important. I use it mainly for chatting (like Viber/Facebook) with some people that use it.
If you don't have friends using it it's not worth enabling it just for the SMS.
Moreover (and that's me) I don't like Google messing with my SMS too (although it does with my browsing history, calendar, contacts etc)
