I feel a little slighted by LG...

Re: i feel a little slighted by LG...

My god, the sense of entitlement baffles sometimes.

Stop buying a phone the first day it comes out if you're going to worry about this kind of small stuff. Look at the Amazon Fire Phone people who bought for $200. Six weeks later they're looking at the same phone only costing 99¢. And you're worried about a free battery?

There is always an "early adopter tax" on tech, it's the price you pay for having to have it NOW. You've had a month or more of enjoyment of the phone that later buyers haven't.

Would you have waited six weeks to buy the phone if you'd known you'd get a free battery? If the answer is no, you've got no complaint. If yes, you need to learn patience.

Price drops and free goodies often means the product isn't selling well, maybe the G3 isn't meeting sales expectations.

Re: i feel a little slighted by LG...

a few things you can do, if you just got your phone. bring it back. say you dont like it. get it again. where im from all the local cell phone carriers offer 15 days of phone use, though you can not go over too much talk time and data usage. so you might qualify even if you don't explain to them what you want to do and they might do it for you anyways.

second, have you tried going to the website and process a request for that anyways? just because they say sept8 doesn't mean much, with most online forms I've filled out they don't really have someone check it out truly. How many applications this place must get for the free stuff is probably pretty burdensome.

tldr:

1. return phone, buy back same phone. explain to rep what you want to do he may help.
2. try the application online anyways you never know

Re: i feel a little slighted by LG...

When I bought mine, AT&T offered me the chance to get the G Watch for 1/2 price which I did, so I feel I got similar consideration.

I think they also had a deal where you bought the phone and they gave you a chance to get a cheap LG Tablet as well.

Seemed like LG had been offering AT&T incentives to move tabs and watches along with the phone. Happy I got both and don't feel slighted when I consider that.

Re: i feel a little slighted by LG...

I bought mine last Saturday, I was offered the LG Tablet for 99 cents, catch being I had to purchase data for it. I said naw.

I had a spare battery with the Galaxy S3, rarely used it so I don't really care

Re: i feel a little slighted by LG...

I think all of us who already have the phone feels slighted. I know I definitely do.

Sent from my Verizon LG G3

Expect to be slighted by the Colts this coming monday night.

But anyways, I'd be pissed too if I bought this phone and didn't at least get some kind of discount.

Re: i feel a little slighted by LG...

This is the way the world works. If the grocery store has a sale on Coke this week, do you expect a refund on the case you bought last week?

If Ford has a special rebate deal starting today, do you think they'll make it retroactive to the car you bought last month?

If LG raises the price of the phone next month, will you volunteer to send them more money? Or more to the point, if someone buys the phone and gets the free battery on the last day of the deal, should the person who buys one the next day feel cheated?

Promos come and promos go. Sometimes you're lucky enough to buy during a promo, sometimes not. But you made a decision that the phone, as offered, was worth what you paid for it. LG doesn't owe you anything more than what they sold you, and you agreed to buy.

Re: i feel a little slighted by LG...

Why is there always such a high sense of entitlement within the tech community? This thread reeks of "I didn't get extras like all the new buyers will, LG Y U DO DIS!!!"

If anything you should be feel some type of way about how you need to reevaluate it means to be an early adopter.

I feel cheated too. So guys how do we send the message to LG? Doesn't do any good just to gripe.

You suck it up and move on. LG has no obligation to give you free stuff.

Geez. Ok.....

I'm still waiting for my $150 gift card from Sprint for buying day one. If I'm correct, they should be sent out today.

But what I really want is that update that T-mo got that supposedly fixed a few things....that's what I want....NOW!!!!!!! I'm not upset folks. I'm just passionate about this stuff!

Anywho, LG aren't mind readers. They don't know when you're about to get a phone so they can release a special just like you don't know they're about to have a special. It's life. It happens. Either try from LG to get the special since you just bought it or let it go.

If it makes anyone feel better.....BB had a special that if you bought a Galaxy S3 you got a free Samsung Blue Ray player. I bought one day early and had no clue about the upcoming promo. When I went back to BB to ask about it, they let me fill out the form but Sammy denied me.

So LG is offering a free cradle and spare battery to people who purchase the G3 now? Not good for retroactive purchases, but now? I could understand if it were something that individual carriers or stores (Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc.) were doing, but this is the manufacturer. Us loyal day one and out buyers don't get anything? Thats pretty messed up. Don't get me wrong, I love the phone and all, I just feel slighted that we didn't get anything out of our purchases.

Hey at least it's not like you bought a xbox one at launch for $500 with a mandatory Kinect , No free games and all you get is an achievement saying you bought it day one and meanwhile has lowered price to $400, Removed Kinect, and now is offering any free game with a purchase of any Xbox one at retail even including bundles like the Madden 15 bundle

Sounds like early adopter problems, not Microsofts and in this threads case, LG.

The take away is to plan your mobile phone purchase around the time of the annual new iPhone reveal. You might get some hot Android deals like LG just did. Look forward to Android companies slashing prices soon to sway potential iPhone buyers. Happens every year. Like it or not, Apple has that kind of pull.
