Welcome to Android Central. Let's find out the level of your dumbness, j/k. I am a pretty dumb guy, so let's see where you're at and to what extent you need help. What is problem?

Alright, I will try to spell out what we did to fix this. It was a HUGE pain in the butt. This was all trial and error, so YMMV.

First, grab my DI01 All in One. You need an all inclusive package.
http://adrynalyne.us/files/kernels/DI01package3.tar.md5

You will need odin3 v 1.30. Gonna assume you have it, considering the mess you are in.

You also need Heimdall.
Heimdall – Glass Echidna There is a readme in the windows version zip if you get stuck. Drivers must be installed for it as well.

You also need a copy of the samsung galaxy s usb drivers, because Heimdall will remove them when you use it.
[Drivers] MS Windows x86 and x64 USB Drivers for Samsung Galaxy S - xda-developers

You will also need a PIT file from me:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2056318/atlas_v2.2.pit

Steps:

1. Install Heimdall and drivers.
2. Put phone in download mode and plug it in to usb cable.
3. Unzip the Odin file. 7zip can do this, but will give an EOF error. Ignore the error.
4. Choose each section in Heimdall and add the appropriate file, including PIT. Check repartition. Primary boot loader is boot.bin and secondary boot loader is sbl.bin.
5. Start. It should finish and will likely be in a reboot loop with a crap ton of failed errors on wiping data.
6. Reinstall Samsung USB drivers for Odin. This may require a PC reboot.
7. Put phone back in download Mode and start Odin, making sure its detected.
8. Load the entire Odin package, not extracted into the pda section of Odin. Include the PIT file. CHECK repartition.
9. Run the process.

If all goes well, you should be back to stock, crappy Eclair 2.1.

Oh, I get it now. He did the same thing as that compguy, tried to put a completely different phones' software on his phone.

Glad to hear you were able to recover from that with the help of Adrynalyne. I'll bet you check, double check, and triple check that file next time.:p

Our dev team rocks!!

hey chris or corey, this should be an "if you are dumb enough to flash another phones rom on your phone" stickie. i mean i would never do such a thing, O:-) , but thats 2 on this thread. it could help some folks out.

I will actually be quadruple checking next time...

I really appreciate the help and I figured I wasn't the only one special enough to do this. Hopefully people can learn from my mistake or at the very least, recover from it!

Now, now mike. Just because a lot of us were thinking that doesn't mean is should be said, or maybe it should. Actually I think I'll try this out. I'm going to go see if Ford Fusion parts will work on my Ford Pinto. I mean they're both
Fords so it should work, right?

Come on guys , people make mistakes and when they do I think they should feel free to come to AC and ask for help and not feel ridicule.

I know you are just teasing though.

Just teasing, because as you well know, I never make mistakes O:-)
Dude I was the king of mistakes and "What does that mean?" "How do I do that?" Oops I read over THAT part of the instructions.

I was seriuos, this should be a stickie. You know this gonna happen again to someone else. This should be somewhere it can be easily found.

You totally Saved me!!! Thought for sure I had a shiny new brick on my hands. YOU ROCK

I have an issue with my Fascinate. I can get it into download mode but the computer won't recognize it. I also notice that when I have it in usb mass storage mode, the computer does not read up on it. I have the drivers installed and tried it on four different computers. I have tried usb debugging mode and nothing. Anyone else having issues with ODIN not seeing their Fasciante?

I had trouble at first, I uninstalled the samsung drivers, plugged into download mode. I think odin got it at this point but maybe I had to then install the samsung drivers again. I needed the basic drivers from download mode before the samsung drivers worked right.

I've been working on
a detailed thread for this behind the scenes , just got side tracked . I'll have it up in a couple days

No not yet. I'm around working on other projects for the Site. I have backed off the fascinate forums because I think we have a lot of talent there and I'm not needed so much. But as soon as I get mine fixed ill be back with some new packages :)
