I got an Android, but want to go back to the iPhone. Why is this?

I will not go back to anything Apple ever. Apple as a company disgusts me with their business practices and their philosophy of seeming to know what I want and what's best for me. No thanks I can think for myself thank you.

Yeah, and that certainly hasn't worked for them. /s

That's has nothing to do what he said. He was referring to himself, not how it affects Apple as a company.

Uh it depends alot on what's cached on what phones as well. Some things will load faster if there's cache

Yes that can make a difference, but he repeated the first app loading test, so both phones should have had it cached. And he tested too many apps for this to be the case for all of them. You got any more excuses to make?

That's true that I was basing that on my own personal preference, but I think there may be a growing number of people who think the same way. Who knows?

When it comes to Apple doing good or bad as a company....whatever they have been doing is working for them. It's one of the most valuable companies in the world.

It looks like both phones were operated in the same way to me. He did multiple runs on both which would account for caching. So it is still a level playing field.

He also exited all other apps before each run, on both phones.

...at the moment. Things change. At one point Blackberry was at the apex of the mobile world as well.

True. For all we know Apple will be bankrupt in less than 10 years.
I don't think Apple's shareholders will allow that to happen. More likely they will simply settle into a niche, the way the Mac did.

Their closed system is responsible for their success and is also their greatest weakness...they are limited in how quickly they can add features and move forward because they are held back by their userbase, who does not want change. IMO, most of their userbase is not willing to accept the compromises that would be necessary to advance as fast as Android has. And Apple knows that.

Well, as a happy member of their userbase I have absolutely no complaints. I'm perfectly happy today, but I may be the exception and not the rule. My 2 iPhones and 2 iPads work very well for me but my needs are app-centric.

Yep the tech industry moves very rapidly and with patents the way they are the company that gets there first gets the gold. Companies that simply cannot keep up will ultimately fail. Even if it's just once. For example... Blackberry like another user stated.

Its just a different way of doing it. One could say its good to pick and choose the best stuff, refine it and not just cram anything into a phone like Samsung does.

Because you have been used to iphone and you always think about iphone so it is set in you mind, so remove iphone from your mind automatically you will feel the change of using android.

It is a different way, and maybe that is why the iPhone has been the #1 selling smartphone every year since it's introduction, and shows no signs of losing that distinction. That, plus unparalleled customer service, is a good combination for continued success.

Their level of customer service can't really be understood unless you've experienced it. It really is remarkable that you can walk into an Apple store, complain about the performance of your product, and they'll take care of it. It's the only place where I've heard the employee say "well, it looks like it's been dropped, but that wouldn't affect the software so we'll take care of it". Physical damage doesn't seem to automatically disqualify you from being taken care of from a service/support standpoint like it does everywhere else.

The affect that has on the average consumer can not be understated. The only time it's not a benefit is if you're not close to an Apple store.

I think you meant that it ought not be understated, but unfortunately people understate it all the time :( Apple's service and some of their attitudes on design philosophy are huge things that I wish more manufacturers of stuff, software, hardware, hell even everything else .. would latch on to and run that execution up to the next level.

To me its poison. And I'm not saying that to offend anyone who likes Apple products...its just my opinion. I don't like their business practices or what the company stands for. Especially their stand on illegal immigrants. Tim Cook goes on about income inequality but he's one of the most valuable people in this country. They say evil corporations should have higher taxes but they store 80%of their worth of shore. That's just the way I look at it. Any one who doesn't is entitled to their opinion and that's fine with me. I just vote with my wallet.
