I got my Xoom upgraded to 4G, who else got there's?

You're missing out on the mobile broadband. ;) I use it all the time...especially when I go to my office for work. It's really awesome and am looking forward to using LTE once it's available in my area. My first taste of LTE on both the Bionic and the Xoom will likely be in December when I travel.

I have the Bionic and I am curious to see what happens if I pull the 4G sim card out of the Bionic and stick it in the Xoom. I'm hoping that it connects right up. The Bionic works with the 4G sim card removed because the 3G radio is separate. That's why the Bionic can surf the web and make calls at the same time. We'll see. If it doesn't work, then I will probably add the 4G wifi hotspot.

That's a really interesting idea. Aren't the SIM cards paired with the hardware though?

Awesome! So the Xoom 4G LTE will be in stores before a lot of us have our upgrades back.

Thanks Verizon.

Mine is the same, but not RMA process yet :'( My upgrade has been delayed the whole time.

It looks like mine is on the truck and out for delivery. Box weighs 4 lbs and mine does have a Sim number even though I never activated the mobile broadband.

You guys who had your upgrade delayed...were your Xooms rooted? Locked or unlocked bootloader? Did you do the master reset? I just wonder if they are having problems with some?

Mine should be here today within the next 2.25 hours!!!

Mine was not Rooted, and I did a factory reset before I shipped it.

Sent mine on Monday the 3rd. They got it on the 4th, and completed the RMA on the 4th.

Was shipped back to me on the 5th for delivery today the 6th.

Not a bad turn around.

So has anyone gotten their Xoom back yet from this round of upgrades?

Nope. I did the encryption and didn't reset it, but, never rooted or unlocked the bootloader. Was waiting for it to get upgraded before I go that route.

I was going to encrypt, but then I read that encryption could not be undone except by doing a factory reset, and my experience with encryption is that it really slows things down, so I would have done a factory reset to decrypt anyway.

Maybe the holdup is the fact that you encrypted the tablet. How would they install the software for the new hardware in the device if the tablet was encrypted?

I reset mine and turned it off and shipped it. There is nothing on there that I really cared about anyway, and it was starting to run a little sluggish anyway.

Well, if you look at what they sent out for instructions on how to protect your data, encryption or factory reset were the two choices. I opted for encryption. And it didn't slow anything down at all. When you turn it on, it asks for the password. After that, the device performed exactly the same as before. If I decide to change my mind and decrypt it, I have everything backed up already anyway. As for the upgrade, they claim it's done but they haven't shipped it. If there's software that needs to be done that they couldn't do because of the encryption, maybe it'll get pushed OTA as an update when I first turn it on? Just a thought.

I was thinking this as I was typing my comment. I'm sure that the device requires drivers, and I was not sure if the drivers could be installed while the tablet was encrypted, but I did think they may push a software update for the new hardware.;)

I am very curious about the return shipment weighing 4 lbs though. Maybe the dock is included!

That would be sweet. I very much want a dock myself as I could use an extra one. I've been thinking about picking one up, so, if I do manage to get one sent back with the Xoom that'd be awesome. I suspect mine will be shipped out today. I wonder if they have a method of bypassing the encryption simply for the sole purpose of installing updates. You'd have to think that only the user data is encrypted. So maybe they put it in recovery mode and install the update that way? That'd actually make sense.

Just received it back. I can confirm.

1. Indeed no signature is required, contrary to what they originally said. Guy just dropped min, rang the doorbell and left.
2. Standard Dock was in the box with the Zoom.
3. It has 3.2.2 installed (even thought I was encrypted).

Of course I am getting an error saying the SIM card is from an unknown source so I need to work through that issue. Hopefully it will be minor.
