I got rid of my status bar clock on Android P

Just curious why someone would want to do this. When you're in an app and want to know what time it is now you'd have to go to your homescreen, right?

Pie puts the clock in the wrong spot, so I would prefer it to be gone

The fact that this stays on the screen when you enable the clock widget is appalling! Why in the hell would you need 2 clocks on the screen??

I was surprised to learn my Samsung 7 was more customizable than my new Pixel 2XL. Samsung had a proprietary app called Goodlock and it allowed you to greatly reduced the ugliness of the status bar.

I'm not sure why ai thought Pixel would be better in terms of customization as I am quickly learning that Google has been taking notes from Apple on how to unnecessarily control how I use my phone.

Man, that status bar is so unnecessary and ugly. I get why some may want it and I respect that, but why does Google need to parent me?
